Geist 1d4 Con, is it drain or damage?

Rules Questions

I can't find anyone else asking about this so I started a new thread. Geist, doesn't list the type so I'm not sure. The only other similar monster I could find is the CR 5 Wraith which does a constitution drain but has a save.

Thoughts?

I'd default to damage, personally.

If it doesn't specify, it is damage.

Ability Damage and Drain (Ex or Su) Some attacks or special abilities cause ability damage or drain, reducing the designated ability score by the listed amount. While ability damage can be healed naturally, ability drain is permanent and can only be restored through magic.

Format: 1d4 Str drain; Location: Special Attacks and individual attacks.

The example text has the definition "xx drain" if the ability causes a stat drain. Without that definition, we should assume that it is "xx non-drain", i.e. "xx damage".

Thanks for the help everyone! Damage it is.
