It only deals its damage when a good creature is damaged by the target, any good alignment is fine.

That is what I thought. Our party is all neutral, except for me, a LG Champion. And to make it worse the few times we have run into townsfolk or other NPCs that needed assistance/rescue our Evil DM has made all of them neutral too.
Perhaps I should explore retraining out of this feat....
Yeah, champions work better with good allies. You can build around a neutral party, but you need to watch out for options like this.

The paladin in my party had some issues with this because most of the party tends to be pretty morally grey. Fortunately he did get one solid use of it off on an erinyes who was attacking an ally I deemed 'basically Chaotic Good' even tho' at the time her official alignment was CN. This was before the GameMastery Guide but I'd heard of plans for alignment variants where deity and intent matter more than initials.
