That's why I'm asking.
EDIT: to be more clear, I understand that Damaged ≠ Destroyed. That's not the question I'm asking.
Does the section I bolded override the general rule that I linked to?
I'm not seeking discussion on the matter, since we were asked not to do that here.
I'm simply seeking clarification.

It does not override that rule. This applies to items which have been damaged, but are still partially intact. AKA there is still something that can be repaired.
Likewise, if an item had a stipulation that something required additional conditions before being repaired (such as some sort of curse, or some sort of special material) it would not overwrite those rules, or supply those materials. Like the transfer of talismans, they will supply the labor for the repair but not any of the other conditions.

Another feedback for the transition mainly:
It is stated quite clearly that faction boons don't do nothing anyomre - including the improved faction champion boons.
Can a bit of clarification be provided what happens with them and the fame spent for them? Will this fame just be lost?
Or will there be something we get instead of the bought improved faction champion?

I just played Scenario #2-05 Balancing the Scales. Great scenario, got the Chronicle Sheet and felt lost. The chronicle sheet has be revised and parts that make player bookkeeping easy were removed. THe Character Chronicle number box, the faction Reputation box was removed, and the area for running totals of XP and Money have been removed. This column of information gave players a quick area to keep a running total of their XP and money. While this may have provided more room for character transactions, the space gained does not make up for the lost of important information on the Sheet. Please bring it back on future Chronicle Sheets The column does not have to be the 1" width You could reduce it to the width of "Starting XP" or "Earned Income" in the previous font size.
Thank you
An Organized Player

I am not happy with the new format, either. I imagine it will be changed come Season 3. Nearly every Season of PFS1 saw the Chronicle overhauled.
This current format works for people who predominantly track their XP, Reputation and GP via spreadsheet. All you need to know is what you gained.
But it doesn't work for people who prefer to record everything on the sheet itself. I'm sure a hybrid that works for everyone is achievable.

Agreed. I am now forced to implement multiple spreadsheets to track XP, wealth, even Reputation. It makes no sense to have a purchases section when there is no place to run a ledger. Might as well make the entire bottom of the sheet just a massive Notes section. Without the Chronicle # box, there isn't an easily identifiable area to keep track of the chronology. I guess I can just write a number up in the corner, but using that logic, I could just issue chronicles on a sheet of notebook paper.
One thing that I can guarantee—once/if we return to live gaming, I will NEVER perform a character audit. It also applies to convention gaming online since you don't get to see the characters in advance. Running on VTT usually gives me a few days to review a character. I can look for obvious/significant errors and errata updates. Plus make sure their macros work properly so we don't lose game time. It is a convenience due to accessibility. However, doing a true/full audit is out of the question. I'm not going to go back-n-forth through their chronicles and numerous spreadsheets. But, then again maybe that is the intent. Hope you don't have blatant cheaters in your area because the chances of correcting their characters has significantly dropped.
I really like that they eased up on "the GM doesn't have to watch over your shoulder and make sure everything is filled in" which was impractical in online play.
I really don't understand this part. If you provide a signin sheet prior to the session, it shouldn't be much trouble for the player to complete the starting values and if they cannot tell you what the starting values are, then the character is not updated/valid and shouldn't be used. Worst case is you just played at a con followed by another session. In that case, just add the rewards, total the values and carry them forward. If at the start of the session you have not bought anything or spent Fame (no longer an issue) then it automatically becomes the starting value for the next session anyway.
EDIT--if we're going to "dumb down" the sheets this much, why have custom chronicle sheets at all? Why not create a blank half sheet with labels and blanks. i.e.
Date:
Scenario#:
Scenario Name:
Character#:
Wealth Awarded:
etc.
The boons are going online to the AcP and let's face it, the items available are almost always a waste of time. Only ones with a reduced cost or custom items matter and those could easily be added to the boon sheet. Someone needs to decide what the purpose of the chronicle sheets is. If it is to track your character's progress, then it needs to be more comprehensive (similar to the previous version) so it can stand on its own as a tracker. It we are trying to go minimalist to reduce the burden on the GM to complete a complicated form or to reduce printing costs, etc. then go all the way—eliminate the chronicle and we'll track our character's progress on our own. The only things we need from the GM are gold awarded, XP awarded, and Reputation awarded and those things can be given verbally, by email, whatever. If Paizo wants to track it, then add a few custom form fields in the reporting to allow the GM to record gold, XP, reputation. It would also serve as a backup, should the family dog eat the player's laptop with all their records.

Twilight Knight is right. At this point the chronicle sheets are meaningless. It's just a paper note saying the person represented by this PFS# played X character in Y scenario, earned Z XP and A money as verified by B GM on C date. Might as well just have it all online and skip the paper copy at this point.
I do not mind having a physical chronicle sheet, but at least put the GP and XP tracking boxes back in. We do not have to have the GM track them. Just put those boxes back for those who do not want to use a spreadsheet and want a physical copy to work with rather than see it all tracked on the Paizo or OP website.

The Only Sheet wrote:The Character Creation section (here) has a section called "Digital characters sheets are available at".
This section is missing TOS 2nd PRO edition Character Manager (available at https://theonlysheet.com/tos2nd/)
TOS 2nd PRO edition has an implementation of the Pathfinder Society rules and should be listed as an available product to Society players. It even features content from the Pathfinder Society Guide book.
Cheers!
The Only SheetUnless it is recognized by Paizo, I don't see that happening.
Also, this smacks as an ad, which I am pretty sure is against the forum rules....
It is a legit request, which is currently being processed.
(Because of the issues it touches on, there will not be further discussion of it here.)

Regarding the new Chronicle sheets.
I empathize with the frustration, and I feel this is an important discussion.
However the guide has no input into, nor ability to control chronicle sheets. That is a Paizo Printing and Layout Function.
Please start a separate thread for that discussion.
Thank you and good luck.

Minor Clarification: (Still debating if it needs to be explicitly stated in the guide, or if it should go somewhere else.)
Beastmaster's ability to switch between different companions, while only having one at a time, is *not* considered to be "placing a new pawn" for the purposes of the pawn limit rules.
Beast master's level 12 ability, Beastmaster's Call, is covered under "temporarily summoned pawns."
(Beast master's level 16 feat, lead the pack, is still under discussion.)

Feedback: Errata and FAQs will impact characters just as they did in PFS1 (see example HERE) and we need a spot in the Guide that addresses what options are available for those affected.
I, of course, propose full, free Rebuilds for anyone negatively affected, no matter how small the change, because it's the right thing to do, and there is zero reason not to.

I used to be more on that side but your insistence that's a full rebuild is always right has caused me to reconsider my position and I no longer support it.

The guide lists several effects that have to be taken care of, or the character is considered dead. However, how they can be taken care of is unclear, unless I've missed something.
Characters can always use gold earned during the adventure to clear conditions and those costs must be deducted on the scenario Chronicle by the GM.
Since all spellcasting services are uncommon (CRB 294), player characters don't have access to them. They are not mentioned in this Guide, or in the Character Options blog.
Character Options states that all characters have access to raise dead, atone and resurrect. Even if this means characters also have access to spellcasting services for these spells, that leaves out remove curse. And cursed is a condition that requires clearing for a character to survive. The possible costs are also unclear. Spellcasting services states that uncommon spells should cost at least 100% more than common spells, and that spells that take a long time to cast should cost at least 25% more. The spells mentioned before match those qualifications. What would be the final costs for these services?
It would be helpful if the guide had a section that clarifies how condition clearing, and possibly spellcasting services, are accessed, if there are any level restrictions on them, and what the total costs are.

Currently working on getting this clarified. I agree it is a problem.

I have a team working on that. I hoped to have it by this month. But the people working on it are volunteers, and so their non volunteer obligations come first.
In the mean time a non VO volunteer *has* provided one. I believe it is linked earlier in this thread?
Oh, I think I missed that.
Thanks, Jared!

Found an error in the Guide.
When Home Region was moved from being a 0 point Fame Boon to being a part of character creation, A part of the text was dropped. Home region requires you to pick *1* nation. Your Character is a citizen of that nation. They have access to any uncommon options unlocked by being from that nation, as well as uncommon options unlocked by being from that region. They do not receive access to options unlocked by being from other nations in that meta region.
Updated Language:
Home Region
This is also the stage at which you should choose your character’s home region (Core Rulebook 420-429), and in the case of human characters, your ethnicity. (Core Rulebook 430-431). Choose one nation (such as Varisia or Taldor). You are considered a citizen of that nation. For the purpose of fulfilling prerequisites and Access conditions for uncommon character options, you are treated as being from that nation as well as the larger region in which it’s found (such as the Saga Lands for Varisia or the Shining Kingdoms for Taldor). See Rarity for more information.
(Yes, I know other races have ethnicities, and can chose other ethnicities at this stage. Still working out how best to include that information without confusing players who *only* have the core rulebook and are suddenly trying to figure out what ethnicity their elf is.)

Okay, Skittermanders all dispatched to their tasks.
Sorry for that, we were transitioning to the new knowledge base and an overlooked variable caused parts of the site to transition before we were really ready. So now wer are a little bit scrambling to keep up.
The nice thing is that the new site has the capability of deploying development clones of the site, so once we get caught up, we will be able to get things perfect in dev, and then roll them out to production (which is a fancy way to say this problem should be reduced if not eliminated in future.
So from now on, the PFS2 Guide, will be hosted on a Wiki type site called Guidance. (After the computer, Guidance, in starfinder that holds all starfinder knowledge.)
Guidence of course is located at the web address www.organizedplayfoundation.org/Lorespire
There is still a significant amount of work to get done. But our hope is that by the time convention season gets underway in earnest, everything will be fully up with all the kinks worked out of it. (Which is why were were doing this *now*)

Fair point on #1, but #2... Well, to start, the link given is currently broken. I'll assume it was valid at the time you posted, as the link to Game Master Basics in the guide is also broken. Either way, the treasure tables for everything besides 7-11 were not present in the guide at the original time of posting.
I repeat my original question. Perhaps the answer is "no", but is it possible to keep the original guide up while the new guide is under development? It seems like there would be a lot of value in that currently.
EDIT: Ohhh, it's back now! :-P

I think what he's saying is that's missing from the Guide.
It’s in the Player Basics section under Before the Adventure. I’m not saying it isn’t confusing. Having character creation separate from Player Basics is in itself confusing to me, but I also understand why having that as a separate page might be desired. Faction selection isn’t listed under character creation, because faction selection isn’t a decision that you make during character creation anymore.

Umm, what's going on? The site says things have moved, but the new site... seems broken in a bunch of ways. Is it impossible to keep the old site up in some form until the new site is actually ready to launch? As it is, I have no way to figure out treasure bundles for scenarios as a GM.
Short answer. Yes.
Slightly longer answer, we tried to, but time ran out and someone pulled a lever we did not have direct control over. The reasons the person had for pulling the lever were all good reasons, and the lever did need too be pulled, but it caught us before we were ready.
That is literally all that I can say about what happened and why, except to say that this happening prevented an even bigger problem.
