I'm planning my first character that will be making use of maneuvers, but while I've been able to make sense of most of the PoW classes so far, I've run into one part that's a bit confusing.
I'm mainly going to go with a desperado warlord, so there's going to be a main focus on solar wind and tempest gale. The guide I was looking at recommended a few levels in Myrmidon fighter, and that looks kinda nice if I'm going to be honest.
But I'm a bit confused on how the maneuvers gained from the fighter levels would work with the rest of the character. Like warlords working off of charisma while myrmidons keying their initiating off of wisdom. and how high level maneuvers I can get from the fighter depending on when I take levels in it?
Basically I kinda need someone to break down multiclassing initiator classes on a very basic level for me.

Fighter maneuvers would be Wisdom-based.
Warlord maneuvers would be Charisma-based.
However, note that only some maneuvers actually worry about that (those with saves or specifically scale due to initiator mod)
Maneuvers known and readied would be separate for each class and would be based on class levels, as would stances known.
Max Maneuver level is based on Initiator level, which is your level in that class, plus 1/2 * your other levels, plus any other bonuses (like the trait), up to your character level.
Once you reach Initiator level of 4 in a class, you can swap one maneuver, then again at every even initiator level thereafter (6, 8, 10, etc).

Just to add to what everyone else has said here, it matters when the levels happen.
For example if you go warlord 1 / fighter 1 / warlord 18 your initiator level when you select maneuvers for your fighter class will be much lower than if you go warlord 19 / fighter 1.
Not much lower. In the PoW errata, here, the maneuver swapping is done at 4th initiator level, and every even initiator level thereafter.
W1/F1 - 3 1st level Fighter Maneuvers
W6/F1 - 2 1st level / 1 2nd level
W10/F1 - 1 1st level / 2 2nd level
W14/F1 - 2 2nd level / 1 3rd level
W18/F1 - 1 2nd level / 1 3rd level / 1 4th level
(This works with 1 or 2 disciplines, but not if each is of a different discipline. At 15th level, the 3rd level maneuver can only be taken if one of the other 2 maneuvers are of the same discipline. However, from that point on, the 3rd level maneuver can be its own prereq)
W19/F1 - 1 1st level / 2 4th level, and the 1st level can then be swapped for a 4th level (you still got all the swaps from those initiator levels), but only if they are all the same discipline. Otherwise, you can still use swaps like above to get 2/3/4 for 2 disciplines.
If you want one of each of 3 separate disciplines, best you can get is 2nd level maneuvers.

Thanks for clearing it up for me, and especially to Shadowcat for clarifying that it'll matter when I take things. That means I won't have to focus solely on solar wind during my early levels before the multiclassing. Thought I'd have to do that to not run out of tempest gale maneuvers to take during the fighter levels.
