What does receiving a sending "feel" like?

I imagine it's different than regular telepathy (where the target just "hears" the message in their native language in their head.) I'm thinking it's more like the words pop into the target's head, but in a way that it's obvious that it's not just their own brain making it up (as they can respond in kind.)
