MINDLINK SERVOS [HYBRID]
Mindlink servos allow you to move using purely mental actions. With the base model, you can move only up to a quarter your land speed in a straight line. You can't move over difficult terrain or simple obstacles, and you can't take a guarded step. With the more advanced mk 2 mind/ink servos, you can move up to half your speed using purely mental actions, changing direction and moving over difficult terrain as normal.
They let you move with only mental actions, is this in addition to your regular land speed?
For example, let's assume a base speed of 30ft. If I use the mental action to move half speed (15ft). Could you then use your move action to move another 30? Or even another 30 with the standard? Basically, I wonder if this armor upgrade simply increases your land speed, since if I understand it correctly, you can move a distance with only mental actions (ie taking up nothing in the action economy)

No. Only being a mental action doesn't mean it doesn't take up any if your action economy. It means that you can do it even if you're paralyzed, or similarly incapacitated.

Other uses can be:
Envoys using their move action for an ability, standard for another ability or an attack and a mental action to move.
Any character using a full round action for a full attack, then a mental action to move.
I am sure there are more but I cannot think of them.
Except that there is no extra mental action.
It's like when a paralyzed envoy who has telepathy uses Inspiring Boost without a functioning mouth. It still takes a standard action, it's just a purely mental standard action.

My apologies, I misunderstood. The action being purely mental made me think "of no effort" meaning can use move action for non-move stuff and still get a little movement.
I can see an argument either way, but it does not say "as a free action". Well darn, not sure it is worth it for the price.

Damn, what a bummer. I thought it could have been a really cool upgrade, but it seems like it would only be helpful in a 1/1000000 scenario :/
IMO definitely makes this not even close to being worth it to take up the upgrade slot, not even counting the bonkers 71,000 credit price tag.

I think it's easy enough to homebrew that you can use it as a swift action, which means that when you're paralyzed in those 1/10000, you can take 3 total moves away from an enemy. And in normal circumstances when you are like taking a shot, moving, then swift action scoot a little more. It's already nerfed on mobility so it's not like your dashing around full-hasted.
