Confused about Conqueror's Forge construction

Is it just me or is the artwork for Conqueror's Forge conflicting? Is the "outer shell" supposed to be that thin ring at one end? Not much of a shell if you ask me. And in one image it shows the three "doshko blades" attached to the command core while another has them attached to the outer ring. One drawing shows the doshko blades at the forward section of the space station, while another shows that they're in the back. Most of the artwork is really great in this book and I know cartography is hard but Conqueror's Forge is really cool and I'm having a hard time visualizing it's "geography".

Yeah, never go by the art. Four different artists will paint or draw the same thing differently and even the same artist will add little variations unconsciously. Case in point: The difference between the cover troll and the interior troll in the Bestiaries has long been a running joke.

Go by the written description, that's why it's there.
