Hello all! I'm doing my prep for starting my Age of Ashes game this summer on role20, and i notice that we have art for all the gates so i'm making journal entry for all of them. But then i notice that 4 of them have the same awesome art, and then Lotusgate (book 1) and Jewelgate (book 4) really doesnt fit with the others.
Any thoughts why?

Yeah, IDK why but the other 4 look like they had consistent art direction that whoever made the other two wasn't given. No judgement, they all look great, but it *is* weird how much Jewel and Lotus gate stand out.
As for in universe reasons, Jewelgate is associated with Yuelral, who has particular edicts about crafting with gems that might lead its crafters to make it look different. Lotusgate leads back to the hub in Kyonin, so making it look deliberately different than the other gates in the ring would have an in universe design purpose.
