Charm and Diplomacy

Rules Discussion

The Exchange

Is there a rule against casting charm and then using Diplomacy to make an Impression? It would seem possible to take an indifferent person and make them friendly via charm followed by using diplomacy (glad hand maybe) and make them Helpful

Charm makes a person helpful while Diplomacy improves attitude

Seems fine to me.

The Exchange

It is interesting. You could encounter a hostile ogre, make it friendly with charm (not attacking it), and then make it Helpful with gladhand Diplomacy (a bump of 4 steps). Based on the rules, the following could happen

"I am going to rip apart any human I see"

-- 12 seconds later --

"Here, take half of my food if you need it. Let me tell you the best way to your destination."

-- 1 hour later --

"That was a good ol' Ogre-y human. I could get along right well if all humans were like him"
