Looking at how fast the PF2 core Rulebook went to best seller on Amazon it is doing better than PF1. It hit best seller quite a bit faster than PF1. I would also guess that Amazon is their biggest retailer by wide margin for Paizo.

As far as switching the group I have switched to PF 2 and have not looked back. The 3.0/3.5 Pathfinder engine is 20 years old and had showed its age.

Obviously PF2 is neither innovative nor better (superior by another name). And since no game can be superior, then none are inferior either. All games are of the same quality.

All are but an eternal remaking of the one true game.

And the answer is 42.

I probably won't start playing 2e for a few years. Still going through the first edition and 3.5 adventure paths with no one willing to do the conversion work. some people that I play with wouldn't mind playing once more options are out.

Ironically, the one person I recently introduced to TTRPGs for the first time enjoys the 1e game she is in more than the 2e game she was briefly in.

However, she likes 2e as a game system better... it's just that her first character concept was a voldur magus/rogue/arcane trickster with three archetypes, she totally fell in love with the concept, and she couldn't translate it to 2e well with the existing options.

She's going to fit right in. XD

That's rather interesting, because when I was talking to my SO about what limitations there were for 5E, she was a bit surprised people would prefer to play that.

Her Chameleon Gnome Thief that is the down-time party healer, a pick-pocket, that has a good knack for stabby stab wouldn't even be able to exist. Her Naked Mole rat familiar? Also gone.

I think customizability with the ease of play is the big draw. APG could very well bring that arcane trickster vibe out! Fingers crossed!

I can't imagine I'd be able to make my shadow haunted gourd leshy bard named Jack Skellington in D&D like I can with Pathfinder 2.

That's certainly my hope. And certainly my anecdote was more to do with that specific concept not fitting well in 2e currently.

Mostly because she was really excited about being able to fire spells out of her bow, and I have yet to think of a good way to implement that in 2e.

You could, for now, say that the magic from the bow thing is purely reskin at the moment BUT if she takes Bespell Weapon then that can be flavoured as firing spells from her bow and the lingering magic charges her next shot.

Folks,

This is not the place to have a pedantic argument over word choice and meaning, and how that relates to your thoughts on P2. And to be frank, the sniping and baiting here is terribly disappointing.

I am going to go ahead and refer this over to moderation. I doubt they will reopen the thread, as it has drifted terribly from its original premise.
