So the connection of the original Silver Ravens throughout the books was pretty tenuous. Why would the PCs care about a bunch of long dead (well 70~ years) heroes?
Well, with the Soul Anchor shenanigans being what they are, why not have the PCs be the reincarnated souls of the original ravens? There's four of them (not including the Jackdaw) which is the average party size.
You could could then tell the story of the original ravens (and give reason for the PCs to pursue researching them) by flashbacks of their old lives.
Apologies if someone else has already suggested this, but thought I should share. If I run Hell's Rebels again, I'll definitely do this.

The OG SRs are presented as ineffectual failures whose achievements the new SRs are meant to surpass. They don't, but the AP clearly thinks they do. The only reason to tie the new SRs to the old would be to foreshadow the new SRs' failure.
Can't agree with you there. With the exception of Brakisi, mind you.
They defended Kintargo against numerous threats and fell in what was a tropey noble but doomed defense of the city.
That said, your opinion is appreciated and I will have to go out of my way to cast them as tragic heroes and not failures.
Plus, as the reborn heroes, they get another shot at it.

Spirit anchor shenanigans make sense but have a danger of coming across forced . But that seems like it will need to be true of any way of making a connection
Is there any scope for them being descendants of any of the Ravens
Yeah, making sure that each old Raven matches the new will require some preplanning.
As always with situations that rely on having a consistent cast, character death will throw a wrench in the works.
