In theory, Skizza's power feat "(☐ If you would bury or banish it, you may discard it instead.)" provides the functionality you're looking for. Certainly, it made the consideration of proficiency less necessary / clear cut.
Isn't it the same issue as the Alchemists, though? Cards with recharge checks aren't handled immediately under the new rules, they go to Recovery. At Recovery you're not playing them, so the power doesn't apply. (The entire power starts "When you play a card that has the Alchemical or Firearm trait...")

Yeah, that's what I decided in the end it didn't matter as much since I had that feat as the first one I took, so banished wasn't too much of a concern. But as Parody mentions it does interact oddly with recovery. Firearms work fine since that's happening right away, but with alchemical happening latter it seems not quite right.

Thanks to an eagle-eyed BGG member, Fighter CD 1.2 has been uploaded, correcting an error on Valeros's powers. The first power (base and both roles) should have said "On another local character's combat check..."

Summoner CD 1.1 has been uploaded. I forgot to change the deck size and feats for the Lord of the Blood Feast role in version 1 and a BGG member had to point that error out.

Skull & Shackles AP 1.1 has been uploaded. The only change from v 1.0 was adjusting the flavor text for Ranzak's Kleptomaniac role based on the informal vote that we took here. Nothing substantive has changed.

Summoner CD 1.2 has been uploaded with corrections to Alase identified here (favored card type has been corrected to "Spell or Blessing" and deck list weapon entry has been corrected to "-" with a card feat of 1). The file has not been approved on the BGG yet, but should be approved later today or by tomorrow. I'll post a link here once the file is approved.
Also, this error points out a weakness in my methodology that might reveal further errors. When creating the character sheets, I used the official downloadable sheets as the baseline. The only Core Conversion character sheets for which I used the cards as my baseline were those that didn't have downloadable sheets. The downloadable sheet for Alase had the favored card type and deck list errors, so those were copied over into the Core Conversion sheets and no one caught them prior to now. If there are any other downloadable sheets that have errors, those probably made it into the Core Conversion character sheets. So I'll be going through all of the Core Conversion character sheets and comparing them to the cards and the FAQs to make sure there are no further errors (and correcting any that I find). If you know of or notice any other such errors, please post them here so that I can fix them.
