Hi all looking for some onfo on pbp games, and hoping to pick the brains of the wiser heads here.
Due to life cant play at a table as much as would like and really want to get some more games in especially Starfinder, but have a couple of concerns.
As im in the UK would the time zone diffrence be too large a problem, currently its British summer time so GMT +1, would this cause too much of a delay between my posts and the posts of other players.
Also have been looking at the boards and like the idea of perhaps playing starfinder society games so could develop the same charater with out being in single long term story but would there still be same opportunity for games with just having level 1 charater.
Just dont want to waste other people's time if these would be too much of problem.
Thanks for everybodys time.

GMT +1 should not be a problem. When I was running games the only times that I had issues with a player was with folks in GMT +9 thru GMT -10 (usually Australia or New Zealand), because they always seemed to be behind all the other posters.
Society games advance slower than AP games, so you would be at the lower levels longer. If you are looking for a game that uses 1st level characters only (no advancement), I have not seen any.

Karde58, you would be very welcome in Pbp.
If you post here in the Castimirs Flaxseed Station recruitment thread that you are interested but new to SFS and new to PbP you will find GMs ready to help you start out. There are currently a bunch of players looking for low tier games. I have volunteered to run one starting in June after Origins. I am just a little busy to commit to one sooner.
If you haven't already done so, I recommend you download and read The Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide which should give you a good idea of how society play works.
You level up about once every three games. A standard PbP scenario usually takes about 4-6 weeks though some are faster and some are slower. Read carefully what the expectations are when recruitment opens, or ask if you have questions.
There is lots of help and support available for you should you choose to join us. I hope you do.
Oh, and we have our own conventions too! We even play multi-table specials. Lots of fun to be had.
As to time zones, not an issue. I have played in games with people from a variety of time zones and with different availability windows. It usually works out fine. In fact, one of my friends is an international pilot, so even in a single game we rarely know what time zone he is in at any given point.
I look forward to (hopefully) gaming with you in the near future.
