So I have the stuff in my cart that I want to order (and sidecart) but there's no place on any of the three screens to apply the 10% off holiday code. I've experimented with different shipping options and gift options but there doesn't ever seem to be a place to enter the code. Is it perhaps an eligibility thing?

This problem you are experiencing is likely related to the limitations of the Holiday code. The Holiday code can apply to items that are submitted within the time frame for the code, and it cannot apply to sidecarts.
This creates two problems, the code cannot be applied to the items if they are going to the sidecart, and if these items go to the sidecart they will only receive a submission date once the generate into an order with the February subscriptions, which is outside the submission date for the code. If you would like to use the code on these items, we need to put them into their own submitted active order before the 31st.
If you would then like those items to ship later, we can suspend the order. Once your subscription order has been generated, you can contact us to combine the orders. This will require a bit more order management on your end, but this is the best way to have your items use the Holiday code.
