Just flagged a spammer in general discussion. Not even 2019 in my area of the world yet and its starting again.

Just thought I'd check in since I have hammered a number of spam posts since New Years, but will say that its at a much more leisurely pace so the filters seem to be catching most of them. So keep up the vigilant coding and hopefully everyone else can keep them flagged for you.

Another spam attack is underway. They are now trying to conceal the spam as technical topics. I reported them because they are clearly unrelated to accessing this site, which is the only way they could be legitimate (and even then they would have been in the wrong forum).
What's up with the series of "AOL" spammers today? Is AOL so desperate they need to promote themselves with spam (do the AOL still exists anymore anyway)? Are those frauds trying to lure folks with the name of AOL brand?
It's not AOL. I recently flagged three such posts yesterday, and only one of them mentioned AOL. The AOL ones may have stood out because the others mentioned services that are currently more popular.
