Today's blogpost: a ghost of trapped apprentice.

I love it.

Text exchange with one of my Strange Aeons players, who is playing a Hungry Ghost Monk:

HGMP: “I should be able to get off work in time to make it.”
ME: “Excellent! Souls will be harvested!”
HGMP: “So we made 7th level?”
ME: “I wasn't saying YOU would do the harvesting. You thought--? Oh. No. Noooo...”

I like this too. For totally different reasons,... ;P

Ah, children.

"I use my vicious mockery on the raven."
"Okay. What do you say?" rolls terribly
"Um...'Heck off, bird. You're mean.'" rolls "4 damage."
"It dies."
"...wait, what?!"

Pattern?
Who? What? Where?! WHY?!?!?

(Removes VERY Dark Sunglasses)

OHhhhhhh,... THERE it is!

;P

I would just like to say Drejk, That I enjoy the backgrounds that you come up with as much or sometimes more than I do the creatures.
:)

Maybe it is just me, when a GM (my old group or new PbP) asks us for a background for the New PC, something they can work with story-wise, Everyone else jots down a paragraph or two. I'm the guy who gets into it and cranks out 1 to 3 pages! ;)

I do like a good back-story! :)

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Agreed. One of the things I love about the Adventure Path line is all that backstory stuff they include for NPCs, monsters, even objects. As a GM, it's been tough to find ways to communicate that to players tho (I mean, how can a decapus have a diary for the 10,000 years it's spent at the bottom of a pit?)

However... the occultist class has been a great boon. The object reading ability has let me spin all kinds of great backstories for everything they find (whether they're in the AP or not).

THAT also sounds great!

I have only dabbled (heh, Occultist humor) with the Occultist a teensy bit, so hadn't even thought of that bonus!

Heh, heh, heh... I tally up my debeverages. It's how I'm keeping score in life. Man's gotta have a code...

And that might be Code Red, as it's the only beverage that comes to mind with "code" in it.

Yikes. I hope it passes soon.

Arkathiel, The Last Lord Of Tor Entheriel. The last of the ghost pack for now. No post tomorrow.

That is amazing, Drejk. Ever thought of assembling all these creations into a single .pdf file or something?

Maybe some day. It would require work, time, and use of more advanced programs than the basic capabilities of Libre Office or Google Docs to make it look decent.

Yeah, that's true.

That is great!

Hi, everyone.

:( I have some severe back pain, today. Even getting out of a chair is very painful. :(

Yikes! How did you hurt your back? Take it very easy; it's easy to exacerbate back pain and make it much worse.

I have no idea how it happened.

Just got back from a trip to the ER. I've been having chest pains all day so I went in this afternoon to have things checked out. The ER techs and doctors found nothing amiss, even after checking things twice, but I still hurt a bit and feel pretty crappy.

I had that once. Turned out my waterbed wasn't doing its job. :-)

My head hurts.

It is Monday. ;P

I going to bed now,
Nighters!

<Aged Wizzie stumbles out of thread, and into bed>

Glad you're OK, Cal. Take care!

Yikes! Need a hand...?

No? Fine, I guess...

I just accidentally dropped a plate from about five, maybe five and a half feet... Surprisingly, the plate didn't shatter or crack. It didn't even got a nick.

Ah, well, good for me.

On the other hand, that's what I get for having silly ideas like cleaning or doing dishes.

Feeling any better, Cal?

My chest still aches a bit, though not nearly as much as last night. It might be an anxiety issue since nothing physical showed up in the tests. I do have some weighty things on my mind, so it could be anxiety, for sure. We'll see how I feel if I can get a couple of things taken care of this week that are causing me some concern.

Hope it all resolves soon!

Thanks, Q!

Glad you're okay, Cal!

If it's physical pain, but heart and breathing are ok and they've cleared you for that (sounds like they have), maybe have an ortho or chiropractor check to be sure you don't have a subluxated (pushed-out-of-place) rib or something.

Could be anxiety too (I have ended up in the ER with it turning out to be at least partly anxiety, certainly that's not unusual), but just noting if it doesn't resolve... hope you feel better soon no matter what.

Heh. Had a fun improv moment during last night's Strange Aeons campaign. One of the players just took Leadership. He acquired a cohort who is a cleric of Nethys who has VERY high Knowledge (arcana), as appropriate.

Strange Aeons - Dreams of the Yellow King:
The party is onboard a river boat. They are attacked by vooniths. I have no idea how that word is pronounced (that is important to the story).

PLAYER: I make a Knowledge roll. What are these things?! *rolls decently*
ME: Those are strange creatures called VOOniths. VOOniths. *relays a bit of information about them*
PLAYER: Guys, they're VOOniths and they have some abilities...
ME (as Cohort): *rolls nat 20 for a total of 38* Actually, sire, it's pronounced 'voh-OH-nith.' And furthermore, voh-OH-niths... *pedantic lecture about ALL their qualities*
PLAYER (to me): Really? My cohort is a 'well actually' guy?
ME: Hey, you wanted a cohort. The Lord giveth and the Lord is annoying.

I've now committed to the bit and am using every opportunity to correct the "leader" PC on minutiae.
