Heh heh heh.

So every year I do Nerdsgiving, where on the Friday after Thanksgiving anyone I've gamed with is invited over and we do an all-day mini-campaign where we unleash our craziest ideas. I just had a flash of inspiration for what I'm doing this year:

Spoiler:
Numeria.

The first half will be pretty standard dinosaurs-ray guns-barbarians, as the party searches for a set of artifacts called the Dragon Crowns.

But the second half... when they find the Dragon Crowns...

They're going to turn out to be invasive, full-immersion VR headsets in a crashed space craft module. They will plunge the PCs into a different reality. One in which they will be...

DRAGONS!

The beauty is, they won't be expecting it. They'll get to ravage the landscape as dragons all afternoon, while gorging themselves on Thanksgiving leftovers.

Should be fun.

Nerdsgiving?!?

HOW have I not thought of this yet?!?

This. sounds. AWESOME!!!
(And SO much more fun than standing in line and getting in physical altercations at stores for discounts on items that are already sold out!)
;P

Have fun!
:D

That sounds like so much fun!!!

Yeah, I love Nerdsgiving. Last year we did a 1920s Call of Cthulhu run. Other years we've done:

- A fey-forest that turned out to be a mi-go infested starship (in anticipation of Starfinder)
- A plane-hopping amnesia heist (without character sheets) that jumped through three of the classic D&D settings (Waterdeep, Ravenloft, Planescape)
- An entirely randomized romp through the Plane of Chaos (a bunch of mini-maps coded and each door led to a dice-determined map).

Prepping for it is a fun thing to do Thanksgiving week, which is usually pretty slow for me. And, since I don't live near extended family, it's a good way to avoid being pressured into awkwardly going to Thanksgiving dinner at an acquaintance's house where I know no one and at least one aged stranger will mistake me for kin and get over-familiar with the cheek-pinches...

Shadow Lodge

I am so envious of this.

I am fortunate that no one in my family was ever a cheekpincher.

Hi, everyone.

My back has healed, but now I have a cold. Can't win for trying.

One of these days we're going to get a post with Monkey Santa's stuffing strewn all over the living room, with Monkey Santa giving a death speech worthy of the best war movies ever made.

And the dog will just have this look of "It was self-defense. You can't prove otherwise."

And at that point, all the evidence, all the frame-jobs that Monkey Santa has been not-so-carefully constructing, just like Keyser Soze's bulletin board, will all fall into place for you.

I, for one, can't wait to see the TV movie that gets made from this!

I would watch the hell out of that.

Also, it's a shame Kevin Spacey seems to be such a creep. He'd be a great voice of Monkey Santa. Although I tend to think M.S. sounds like Joe Pesci but, you know, Joe Pesci trying NOT to sound like Joe Pesci. Maybe Joe Pesci doing a Kevin Spacey impersonation.

Oh, hello headache... :/

Ugh. Hope it goes away soon.

Headaches down this way (other than you know, the usual) are being caused by sinus issues.
Peeps be fighting off the Flu down here.

Stupid roller-coaster weather.

I for one, do not care if it is Cold or Hot, I can deal with either.

But MAKE UP YOUR @#$% MIND WEATHER!

This whole 'Cold enough to need a heater at night and Hot enough to need the AC during the Day' stuff is ridiculous!!

;P

Oh yeah, feel better quick! :)

Ye gads. Today is only Wednesday. Though I no longer do my time in the 9-5 working world and every day is essentially the same for me, I still look forward to the weekend. I guess it's just ingrained into me after all the years I went to school, college, and worked. We don't have a game this weekend, but my GF is coming down and I'm really looking forward to her visit, so maybe that's why this week is seeming to drag on interminably.

So how is everyone else's week progressing?

Down the toilet, into the sewer, bursting through a pipe, burrowing down through the aquifer, and picking up speed. Tomorrow will be even worse.

Dang. I'm really sorry to hear that!

My week is going pretty good, we got the concrete for an outdoor kitchen poured and I started on a seat wall going in around what will eventually be a fire pit. Tomorrow Tiny T-Rex is off school but Crookshanks still has to go so It's a dad-son bonding day (we'll probably go to the arcade).

The good news is they didn't find anything that wasn't supposed to be there in my bladder yesterday. The better news is I don't have to go back for another check for two years.

They just opened a retro-arcade here in the city where I live. I'll need to check it out.

Creepy does seem to be my aesthetic... my wife won't come in my office much any more. Jeez. A few soulless, eyeless paintings on the wall and suddenly the place is "weird". :)

Fortunately MY aesthetic is more 'Star Wars/Trek" and less "Creepy".

Or, maybe that's UNfortunately, since I can't seem to keep any of my family OUT of my office! ;P

Yesterday was worse, but nothing unexpected. Big worse coming.

TMI very bad news:
We had to move Mom to hospice yesterday. It's only expected to be for the next couple days. Family all notified, everything set with lawyer and cremation. She is relaxed, comfortable as can be, and in no pain; she's accepted it, had last rites & absolution, and taking it much better than the rest of us.

.
Sorry for bad news on a Friday before Thanksgiving.
