Also my weekend was alright.

That's like saying "For me, it's still prime rib as the best. Followed by hot dogs."

I mean, I like hot dogs, but they're not even in the same league as prime rib. Freddie was a singer. James Hetfield happens to sing.

It's like comparing Tom Morello's guitar playing to...I dunno, Kurt Cobain. Not to say Nirvana wasn't enjoyable, but on a technically proficient level, they're not even in the same league.

At the end of 2015, a rehearsals were announced in the Heaven for the voice of God.

Lemmy went there to make a ruckus.
Alan Rickamn went there because of his sense of duty and work ethics.
David Bowie went to ask why they are making a rehearsal for his voice.

Spoiler:
They needed a temp to sub for Freddie when he is taking his vacations

I read not long ago that a group of scientists analyzed the voices of many pop and rock singers. According to their findings, Freddie Mercury had the greatest voice of all time, not accounting for singers from before the era of voice recording.

Sounds legit.

I remember that study. Julie Andrews came in second, and Mariah Carie third.

That's the one. I just couldn't remember who the others were.

Didn't Mariah Carey also discover radium?

LOL!

I know it looks like a mutation, but it's just lots of plastic surgery.

She's been lifted and tucked more times than a sweaty scrotum.

Yep. That checks out.

Mariah Carey also discovered the cure to hearing.

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone! Time for me to go crash, gotta be up in 9 hours.

Vagrant Erudite,

Look my brother who enjoys steak au poivre also enjoys hot dogs. Believe me, just because I think James Hetfield is a great singer doesn't preclude things being in the same league. If you really want things to be the same, I'd suggest finding the Infinity Gauntlet and fixing it yourself.

Also Happy New Year, from the people in Morgantown, WV who while they did go their FLGS to see if they were going to blow up the Death Star (from A New Hope) to ring in the new year, the store decided to not have it...but I still saw it!

Finally, Tom Morello is a decent guitarist but I'd take Hendrix, Paige or even Slash over him.

Hello from 2019! I hope everyone's New Year's Eve plans unfolded as you hoped. No parties for me but I did stay up until midnight, which is very rare for me except on game nights.

So what is everyone doing today? I will *try* to get off my duff and do some work around the house, but chances are I'll be right here in front of my monitor all day. Party hardly. That's my new motto.

You know when you’ve got a headache so bad you want nothing more than to pass out and not feel it anymore, but you can’t fall asleep because your headache is so bad?

That was me last night. I didn’t plan on staying awake to see the new year in, but I did anyway. Auspicious start to 2019, neh?

I stayed awake mostly due to the fact dogs kept barking. That and they still like to wake me up early.

As for my day, it's another quiet holiday for today.

I love these NPCs you're tossing out here! With this one, the name of the kingdom even sounds like it came from a city or kingdom in my own setting.

I wish Drejk would do MY pre-gen PCs... :p ;)

That princess sounds ripe for being quietly inducted into a secret cult of dark knowledge. I know a few faiths in my homebrew setting who would be all too happy to have her on their team, since the local church is so adamantly against her membership. ;)

I don't know why I never discovered Spotify before two weeks ago. I'm a playlist building machine and have numerous large to huge lists on Youtube. But it's faster to do it on Spotify. I think I mentioned the other day that I'm going to be taking my old mix tapes and building playlists of their contents. That's been fun, too. I need to go to bed but I just found the Oingo Boingo albums. It's a dead man's party up in here!

Great, now I gotta go looking for Boingo this week.

Aneka Nikoss Dhun-Barrin. Another princess... Except this one is dead.

I think she might want to worry less about her lack of aging being noticed and more about when she starts to rot. Unless she has easy access to a daily dose of gentle repose.

All I know is undead PCs aren't going to feature much in "Let's Kill Krampus." :p

I really wanna keep up with your development and eventual play of this session.

My "Land of the Lost" adventure went better than I expected it to, considering I was winging most of it. Thankfully my knowledge of the series and information from the Wikipedia page kept things interesting. They're still trapped there and the party has been separated. All but one of the party was in a cave fighting a medusa, which they eventually slew, but the party's Sorceress was hit by a falling tree during the windstorm they triggered. She teleported away. Not I've got to come up with something for her while she's going solo.

That show and "H.R. Puffinstuff" were like acid trips for kids.

That was really cool. Better duels than some in the movies.

Cal,

If I get it to stop sputtering and starting, I'll be happy to post more. We'll see if 2019 does that or not.

Annnnd, I have returned from the netherworld!

AKA- Oklahoma, where my family still resides. :P

(Although, I usually refer to Lousy-anna, where I live, as the underworld too, sooo,...) ;P

After a hectic if fun-filled visit with many branches of my family tree, I drove home 9+ hours in the friggin rain, (most of it fairly heavy)

Yes. My head hurts. But the car is unpacked, and We have eaten dinner, I shall now self-medicate with a nice cola and Rum, and go,... to,... BED.

Belated Happy new Year to all!

:)

Yes. Yes it was.

And yet I do recall LIKING HR Puffinstuff.
That may explain a few things,... ;P

Oh yeah. I got up early on Saturdays just to watch it.

I used to wake up at 5:30 so I could catch Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Captain Kangaroo.

Captain Kangaroo came on our CBS channel. I lived 2 hours away from the television stations in Little Rock and we could get the PBS, NBC, and ABC affiliates but we couldn't bring in that channel. I got to watch very little of the show.

Captain Kangaroo was awesome.

Our local TV cartoon host and kid-show host was 'Uncle Zeb', I was actually on his show once. :)
(School friend's Bday party, they would book groups on the show, they were the live kid audience during the live bits, and would play games with the kids while the cartoons were on)

On a side note, for those who DID see Captain Kangaroo, do you recall 'Slim Goodbody'? The guy who ran around with a spandex suit with half of the body inside organs painted on it? (Google it) ;)

Well, That old guy is STILL ALIVE. And he hasn't changed his kids health show ONE word. ;P The only thing he has done is (Finally) switched to modern technology for his presentations, and hired a much younger man to do his live kids shows.
I know because he comes through my auditorium.
Every. Single. year. ;P

The original Bozo the Clown allowed other people to franchise his image for their own local Bozo shows. The owner and president of a prominent Arkansas bread factory was Gary Weir. He played Bozo for decades on the ABC channel. He showed mostly Rocky & Bullwinkle and Casper the Friendly Ghost cartoons. I hated the latter.

Good morning, housemates! What's in your plans for today?

Dentist appointment. Getting my temp crown removed and the permanent put in.

Otherwise, work. Overtime starts today.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

My dentist had to replace a broken crown for me back in the Spring. He put on the temporary crown and it won't come out. He even tried pulling it like he would a tooth and that sucker just wouldn't budge. So here I sit, with a permanent temporary crown.

Taking my computer in, reluctantly, for a thorough cleaning. And possibly a fan replacement. I'm probably going to be computerless, and in withdrawal, for a week. :-(

Before you ask, no, I can't do it myself. It's an iMac, and I don't have the tools to open it.
