OK< so I was raised in Oklahoma, (Where we actually have all 4 seasons!) so i don't really mind either extreme. I mean I LIKE & prefer it to be comfortable, but I can deal with HOT, and I can deal with COLD.
I just want the weather to make up it's DAD-BLAMED MIND on which one it's gonna be! This daily roller coaster of temp changes is just,... annoying.
>_<
And rain? Yeah,...
In southern Lousy-Anna, even when it's DRY and you haven't seen rain in weeks (which almost never happens) its still like 99% humidity most of the time. :P

Monkey Santa needs to watch Kong, Skull Island, a far superior telling of the King Kong story.

I liked Jackson's Kong. One of like six people on the planet who seem to have liked it. I think he was still too much in LOTR mode when he directed it. It's not interesting enough to support its length. Tries to be too epic. Like I said, I feel like Jackson wasn't in the right mindset for a Kong movie. And I *still* like it.
Skull Island, I think, is better.

Scribe servilis, a petty fiendish scribe that might reluctantly serve you, if you threaten (or bribe) it into service. Or if you are a powerful fiend.

So when you fence you'll need to be generally in a lunge position? Owww...that's going to make your thighs ache after a while. And no lets not get into fancy stuff. Me will trip over my own feet! But again it may be able to be trained out with practice...

Oh yes, you get to have good legs after a while.
I'm a cruddy fencer, (I HATE the 'olympic rules' that are mostly used today. Mostly because most judges cant tell the difference between attacking without a proper parry, and a riposte!) >_<
BUT< I am a very good (decent? depends on your point of view) STAGE combatant. (Actor/Combatant- Society of American Fight Directors)
Either way, your arms and legs get really good workouts!
:)
(MY way, you dont worry about getting hurt!) ;P

The stance depends on whether you're doing Olympic or historical fencing/SCA (or stage fencing, as Ragadolf says); the stances in historical fencing also vary greatly according to which weapon and/or period you're studying.
For a real Vision of Agony, especially if you've ever had back trouble, take a look at these guards from Salvator Fabris' rapier system

OH YES!
If your talking PERIOD fighting styles, that's another entire different bag of pain your talking about then!;)
I don't know as much about period styles as I would like, but I'm fairly certain that several were created just because they wanted to prove a popular teacher wrong, and not because they were actually superior.
:P
EDIT- OI VAY those stances and guard positions!
Aged wizzie's back hurts just looking at the illustrations!

So today is a good day for the fact I DID manage to almost sleep until noon. Now I just have to see how Wednesday through Saturday treat me as I a) take care of my regular clients and b) my neighbor two houses up from me with their dog who is a great dog...but I just feel so tired taking care of MY dogs some times.

To be fair, it does work - IF you have the flexibility - as you're very well covered, and you won't actually adopt the guard until you're within strikimg distance.

FAir enough, I'll accept that as a valid argument. :)
In 'Stage' combat, (UNLESS you are doing a period piece) you actually want to make your self an EASY target, as that makes it easier for your partner to see where he's aiming and not hurt you, and makes the 'threat' on stage seem that much more real to the audience. :)
MY friends and I never 'fenced', but we DID beat each other with wooden swords out behind the dorm for the first couple of years of college!
As none of us wanted to hurt the others, or be hurt, we pulled our punches, but I got several rapped knuckles and whacked knees. (I did learn to keep my leg BACK finally! amazing how easy a target the knee is!)
:P
