Yeah Cap. I'm positive most of the Upper Mid-West, New England and others are fine. I meant MY county of Monongalia, which is one of 55 in the state of West Virginia. Now doesn't mean people can't prepare for it (some do very well). I just notice when it comes to care and treatment for some of the higher elevations of my state, (at least around here) there's not always a great treatment plan in place at times.

My fault, I misread that! :-)

I like the mega stores too, Lots more books, but the MALL, come on guys and gals! How many of us wasted many hours just walking around the mall??

I miss Borders.

It was *the* thing to do. A friend got back from Desert Storm 2: Electric Boogaloo and we went to the mall to catch up and walked around it four times and were back at the car when we realized that we hadn't even gone into a store... Good times.

And yeah, I loved the bookstores like Waldenbooks that could be found at our local mall.

Buying everything online is sure more convenient, but lacks somehow. As time goes on, my world seems to get smaller and smaller, and I visit the far end of my own city less and less. Obviously life ends the same for everyone, with a box, but it's creepy to see it happening and my 'event horizon' shrinking year by year.

Great. Now I'm gonna just crawl into bed and hope I wake up tomorrow.

So I think we can chalk down Set as maybe if Thanos arrives and asks "Who will join me in bring death to the universe?"

Sorry just though I'd lighten the mood.

Sure, yeah. Happy to, big guy. I just gotta pick the kids up at Gymboree and swing by the dry cleaners first. Mind if we grab take-out on the way? I know this great poke bowl place. It's imitation pokemon meat, but I swear you'll never be able to tell the difference. Wait, is it Tuesday? Crap, I totally spaced. Lillian's got her book club, so I need to be at home with the rug rats. What does your next week look like? Tell you what, just shoot me a text and we can sync our Google calendars and bring this death thing to the universe. Man, life used to be so much simpler in necrocollege...

I did, though whether or not that's a good thing is yet to be seen. My players better be entertaining tonight or the whole day will be a waste.

What we want now is a Monkey Santa fan-sign for DM Cal.

I'll see what I can do, but he's been literally climbing the walls since I let him watch Free Solo.

Dang it, I have so many action figures and stuffed animals.

You shouldn't have shown me this.

Keep him off the Wandering Monster energy drinks! Be a responsible monkey papa!

After moving to the south state of LOUSY-ANNA, I have, literally, seen the city of New Orleans shut down on THREAT of a snowflake!

(No. NOT even kidding.) >_<

The next morning, it was 80 degrees, and I was the only one on the road going to work. :P
(I almost wrecked, I was laughing so hard!)

MAlls:

In Tulsa, OK, there used to be multiple malls in the middle of the city,

Then one day (quite a few years ago now) some wiseguy built a mall WAY on the outskirts of town on 71st street. In the middle of a cow pasture.

Everyone told him, "You crazy! NO one will come to your mega mall in the middle of a cow pasture when there are 5 malls in the middle of the city!"

Today, the city has grown up AROUND that mall, and you cannot buy a square inch of unpaved dirt with 5 miles of that mall. It is a behemoth 2 story mall with every space still filled.

And the original 5 malls in the middle of the city? All closed. Some of them closed, reopened and closed multiple times. A couple of them are hanging on still, some better than others.

;P

Oats do that to most of us, to be fair.

Thanks for all the monkey frivolity today. My game didn't really go well (from my point of view) and I slept until 1 pm. Woke to what felt like someone using an agonizer on my knee but it was my dog Rosie laying cross my legs. So yeah, this simian jocularity was just what I needed.

Glad to help. Bummer gaming didn't go well. Some days are like that. Dammit.

So Giantslayer has this one part in the fourth module where you have to do hit and run style raids to successfully demoralize the giants. One of them is their brewery. Guess who blew up the Brewery (No, not me but I helped!) Mostly the fact we had a cut scene about it and then the fact our Oracle of Life triple plane shifted us to Nirvana where we ended up interrupting a rehearsal that Shelyn was conducting...

That was pretty baller over all.

Hey all,
I have been motivated lately,... (FINALLY)

Some of you may know, I have been trying to 'chronicle' the valiant adventures of a certain group of heroes from a certain monkey's PbP thread.
I have 'humbly' dubbed it,
"Justin's Story, A Silver Rose Adventure'

After an entire years hiatus, I have once again been motivated to continue the chronicle.

For your perusal, I give to you, PART THE SIXTH

4 pages of PbP thread, 20 pages of text, mostly single spaced.

Where the adventurers learn a little more about each other, and begin to get some actual clues to their current mystery,...
Enjoy! :)

I'm also thinking of running a pre- or post-con session of the Lamentations of the Flame Princess module "Blood in the Chocolate"... which is a demented NSFW parody of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. (Oompa loompa doompity—Die!)

Quick note...

In response to what's come to light about frequent LotFP contributor Zak Sabbath, and also about LotFP owner and author James Raggi: I will absolutely NOT be running this game.

I won't be having anything to do with that game again.

So...anyways, dog school has moments where I wonder if I have the right dog...and then reality sets back in. IE I take my dog Galway for a walk in the rain before his vet appointment..and he barks the neighbor's kid. (Who's a REALLY nice kid. And their dog is great, especially for Galway and Rory)

Then we take him to the vet and he's all scared until the vet tech that's worked with him for almost year AND is the teacher of the class; He basically jumps into her lap when we're asked to leave so he can get his regular shots and stuff.

And,...
Happy HUMP DAY!!!!!
:)

Right back atcha!

Happy Day Off, for me.

I was just wondering about ya! How are you?

So how has everyone's day been? Or for the Housemates in a different time zone how about your night, day, somewhere in between?

I worked 30.5 out of 38 hours.

And 6 of the last 7 days.

So, sore, and maybe a little tired.

I'd be hospitalized doing that at my age and condition. When I was a kid on the farm? Not a problem. Now? Have EMTs on standby.

Snow. So it's an improvement over 40 and rain in my book.

My backyard has not been totally dry since November. I can't recall a time when it's rained as much as it has here lately.

Still a bit of snow but it's melting and actually not too cold.

Stomping on fading snow makes me feel very powerful.

Same here. Patches of the grass are actually moldering out because of over-saturation. It's gross.

Anyone read All Summer In A Day by Ray Bradbury?

Yeah, must be nice.

We, on the other hand, have gotten 40 inches of snow in the last 31 days.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, but it’s a dry heat.

Heat? Like from the sun!?! Surely, you jest.

It's my new go-to response to any weather-related comment. I'm trying it out, seeing how it goes. So far, not well.

I just say "what does that mean for Aaron Rodgers' shoulder rehab?" or maybe "well, none of this would have happened if Brett Favre wasn't traded to the Jets!".

Really, any kind of Packers comment works.

I like this reply too. I'm gonna test it out today. :)
