Avengers Assemble does work better for that than "Justice League...show up!"

Which they typically do, to be fair.
;)
(At least, they did in MY comics when I was a kid! I cant vouch for today's comics)

Positive Thoughts and prayers to Dizzy!

Serviles subtype and a feat. Too lazy to write more!

My thoughts are with you, Dizzy.

Dizzy, my blade is ever at your service.

Thank you!

Not a great day. I hope it picks up. Considerably.

One of those days where the giant self-slingshot you built was initially awesome and then had an unforeseen landing problem? Been there, brother. Been there.

You nailed it.

Very windy day. No gaming sadly but probably for the best as our best healer (and second best healer/arcane spell support and arcane spell support/trap person/send your unconscious mind to fight giants) weren't available to help us fight 8 ice trolls, 6 winter wolves and the Frost Giant Sub-Jarl.

Dang it.

My game went fairly well. As usual, I have a framework of an adventure and then play off the player's actions. I had a good time as the GM, something that's slowly becoming less frequent. I'm getting burned out, I can tell, and need to take a month or so off. After the next session, on March 9th, I'll tell folks we won't reconvene until late April. I hope that someone else will volunteer to run a game of some kind that's a pretty nebulous hope. No one else wants to run anything more than once or twice a year and I need to be on the other side of the game master's screen. Ah well, it'll work out.

Howdy, Housemates. How is everyone?

This weekend was a success, even if I stayed up way late last night and regret it deeply today. Tonight, I hope to see us finish our high level module.

Doing well, ta. How're you?

I'm alright. Going to see the orthopaedist today about the miserable knee pain I'm having, so we'll see how that turns out.

TODAY IS BETTER DAY I am getting along. It is a relief and my father leads the way as he always did. Now I believe that our time limited to a short number of days. In those days we must pack a life with all the joys and sorrows; all the heartaches and triumphs; all the paths not taken and the journey that was traveled. Then we sleep.

Very true, Dizz. Very true.

I'm not a happy dude. You're all aware of my kvetching and whining about my never-ending and severe knee pain. So I had an appointment with my orthopedist today. I asked my son to get off work early so I could make it by 2:45 (we have to currently share his vehicle). I get there on time, I have my insurance cards in hand as well as my most recent list of prescriptions. They told me they had me down for Wednesday at 3. I know for a fact this is wrong because I wrote down the date on an index card while on the phone when they made the initial appointment. Then I added it to my phone's calendar. Of course, bringing this up would have served absolutely no purpose so I turned around and came home. Now I have to come up with a ride for Wednesday.

Today is week 4 of 6 week puppy/dog training. It's been interesting but mostly it's just a relief to see Galway (the dog that has the most issues) be almost the best student. Of course taking Trazadone for his anxiety helps too.

Well, I know what I'd like to recommend, but with your knee it probably isn't a great idea... I'll go ahead and flip one on your behalf.

Feeling any better this morning, Cal?

Hiya. I feel fine except for the blasted knee. It's pretty intense and I haven't really even done more than walk from my bedroom to the kitchen and back. I'm finally going to get in to see my orthopedist (Yeah, I'm at the age where I'm collecting specialists now) on Thursday. I kind of dread what he might say, and that's a knee replacement. I can't have any surgery until my cardiologist says so, and that won't be until at least April.

Anyway, I whined all that to say, "Yeah, I'm actually doing well overall. Thanks!"

:D

Aside from my carrying on in the previous post, how is everyone?

I got better sleep last night, so still tired but not nodding off.

Did not finish Wardens of the Reborn Forge but hope to only have one more session to go.

I generally sleep like a rock, anywhere from 8 to 12 hours a night (not being able to work anymore does have an upside). I got about 10 last night but I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

I'll stay up late and get 4-5 hours, then do a full 8 hours and somehow be more tired than before. Weird stuff, probably to do with rhythms and the like.

Doing okay today, Cal.

The medical edition of Monopoly. The one with the most doctors at the end wins.

LOL!

Lessee, I have a general practitioner, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, an orthopedist, and a dentist. I guess that's not as many as I thought. That or I'm leaving someone out.

LOL!

Let's see. I have a general practitioner, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, and a dentist. I'm currently without a psychiatrist. I guess that's not as many was I thought!

Dammit. I was picking up various articles of trash in my room and I threw away a half filled 24 oz cup of iced tea.

A lens just popped out of the frames of my glasses and I can't get it to stay in. I'll have to take it to my optometrist's office tomorrow and have them fix it. In the meantime, I'm glad for my 32" monitor and the ridiculously large print on my new illuminated keyboard. I got it on sale, not for any sort of vision reason. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

People kept calling and the dogs kept barking so I didn't get my extra 3 hours of sleep that I'd like to get...and now Thursday I get to spend 6 days in a place OTHER than my own bed. But plus side, I get 300 dollars for it. Perks of the job I guess...

Good and the bad, I guess. Good and the bad.

Hey, Housemates! How's your day shaping up?

My day off is doing okay. How's your day?

It's OK. Not great, but OK. I get to see my orthopedist tomorrow to find out what's wrong with my knee, so that's good. And I just spilled a fair amount of salsa on my shirt...lol.

Honestly, not great today. Pretty crummy. I woke up and had to deal with some infuriating, soul-draining s%&% first thing in the morning. Normally, I can bounce back and get on with my day. For whatever reason, today I haven't been able to shake it off. It's 3:00 and I've wanted to break stuff since 7:00 AM.

I haven't broken any stuff though, which is good, I guess.

And yesterday my friend's daughter sent over more artwork inspired by one of my novels so that makes me happy. I think she's really talented!

So there we go. I guess things aren't all bad and even though I lost the better part of the day to useless rage-looping, I've still got the afternoon and evening to turn it around. And writing this mini-rant is helping me get there. Thanks all for indulging me.

Sorry to hear it! Hopefully, it does indeed turn around. Perhaps a frank conversation with Monkey Santa about what's going on will help!

Hey, I got my own problems.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Silly monkey,

So today I went to my optometrist's office to get my glasses repaired. Because of my increasing anxiety issues, I don't like driving anymore, whereas once it was just a joyful experience for me. Anyway, I got there, went in, and was there less than 10 minutes. I leave and go back to my son's vehicle (we share it) and realized not only had I left the keys in it but has left the engine running, as well.

I'm really bothered by this. My memory hiccups have become pretty noticeable to not only myself but my GF and a few others. Gettin' kinda worried.

Don't you switched a medicine recently? Could it be the reason? Or were those memory issues appearing prior to that?

Chronic pain also wrecks havoc with the nervous system... :/
