Party is currently about 7th level on a chartered ship, chasing the main bad guy, heading to a library. That should be enough to tell most of you that know anything about the AP where we currently are.
One of the PC's has been on the verge of death quite a few times and isn't expected to last much longer. Player doesn't want to raise him since he hasn't been working out so well. I'm building a replacement or backup PC for if/when that happens.
Here is his thought process. He found the Damnation Feats. Since everyone in the group has been individually exposed to powerful forces from the Dream dimension that were trying to subvert/enslave us, these seem pretty thematic. It would also give the good cleric someone to try and redeem. He's not sure which ones he will take yet since he hasn't even decided on class yet. But he leaning toward an arcane caster. He's also thinking that the Damnation Feats go pretty well with the Tiefling race.
Here are his main questions:
Which Tiefling heritage (or just the vanilla version) seems most thematically appropriate for this AP and the Dream dimension? Or does some other race seem more appropriate to you?
Or... Hmm... Would an Aasimar that has been driven totally around the bend into the Damnation feats be more thematic?
Which evil deity, demon, devil, or whatever seems most appropriate for this AP and the Dream dimension?
We will make some build that works from that point.
Have you considered the Devilbound-Template? In my opinion the forces of hell could have some motivation to track down Lowlth to stop him from what he´s doing.

Ok, found it. I can ask our GM, but I would guess he's going to say that is too powerful.
I'd do a control-F on the evil deities on Archives of Nethys to find those that have dreams and nightmares in their portfolio/themes. Lamashtu and that hag goddess (Alhazra? close to that) come to mind. But AoN seems to be down for me right now.
Any other thoughts on which breed of Tiefling (or other race) and/or Dream Lord is most appropriate?
None of the tiefling heritages really fit, in my opinion. The alternate changeling option, Dream-Thief Born (Waker May) would be very thematic and have a bonus to mind affecting saves that would be useful in this AP.

I definitely wouldn't do Chtulhu in this one.
Aha! Yes Dream Thief description sounds perfect. I think the GM would love it.
