Is Pirate's Favor Divine?

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

I just beat the Regatta (after four tries, man that was a challenging and exciting scenario) and unlocked the Pirate's Favor, and I want to give it to my Alahazra, queen of the blessings. Unfortunately, I noticed the card does NOT have the divine trait, meaning she won't be able to use it for some of her Oracle tricks. Is this trait missing from the card a mistake? Are there any other blessings in the history of the game that don't have the divine trait?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It's not a mistake, and several other blessings don't have the Divine trait - though they only started to be printed as 'normal' (non-Loot) cards from Mummy's Mask onwards, including some Class/Character decks.

For example...

Blessing of the Elements
Blessing of the Spy
Blessing of the Samurai

Amongst others.

In fact, there's even a character who can only carry non-Divine blessings in his starting deck, so it's a pretty well-captured mechanic, albeit Pirate's Favor is the only one that I can think of from Skull & Shackles.

Thank you! Guess someone else will hold onto it...

Blessing of Alkenstar (in the Gunslinger deck, for one) is also not Divine.

Indeed, that's probably the earliest non-loot one, if that came out before Mummy's Mask (which I believe it did). The Occult Adventures character decks were full of Signs (which were non-divine blessings), so there's probably well over a dozen different non-divine blessings.
