Interesting…..
I’ve been a bit disappointed in the Blackfire storyline, but only because they made her more sympathetic. I’d have preferred they give the actress a chance to be more villainous.
I’ll be interested to see how this finally ends. Overall, however, I thought this season was kind of meh.

While I agree with you on the matters around the Pit, I think the idea was that Dick in his mindscape was fighting for his soul. If he had kept just pummeling mind-Jason and succumbing to his worst feelings/instincts, then he would have come back insane.
I wonder now with Connor's betrayal if Blackfire is going to snap. You may yet have your wish. (Unless I missed something, which is possible.)
Every dialogue with Tim being "no, don't be a hero, Tim!" when we all know that's what he is going to do is getting really f!+!ing old.

An interesting ending, even though I thought it was a little anti-climactic. I liked the hint of a possible Ra’s scheme for next season. It’d be interesting to see who they might get to play him.
I’m glad it looks like they’re going with Tim as the new Robin, but I kind of wish they’d left him with Bruce for awhile.

Given how wildly uneven the season was, it was as good a finale I could reasonably hope for.
Liked how a lot of the subplots tied up. I felt good about what they did with Darkfire.
I agree, Tim should have stayed with Bruce (though I like him a lot). Actually what I really wish is Dick, Tim, Jason, Babs, and Bruce spun off into a Gotham Knights series that then dealt with R'as, and Titans remained its own series (with Donna and Dawn returning) dealing with not Batfamily issues or characters.
Also I'd watch the f@ out of an agents of ARGUS series featuring Vee as handler.

Finally got around to watching season 3 and it felt like the writers made a first draft and left it at that.
I'll watch the next season, and hope we see more of Blackfire, who along with Krypto was the only character I really liked and wasn't at some point annoyed with this season. Also, I really liked her and Conner as a couple.

Bosch Star Titus Welliver Joins Titans Season 4 as Lex Luthor, First Look Arrives
I like Titus Welliver, so this could be cool. Hopefully better than some of the other junk being put out.

I don’t know if Luthor ever used magic in the history of the comics (I’m not THAT old), but I suppose it makes sense. Kind of seems like a Dr. Doom rip off though. Hopefully, they won’t screw this season up, but I did catch glimpses of one or two things that might ruin it.
I shall remain cautiously optimistic for this one.

The first two episodes of season 4 dropped today. So far, it’s a pretty interesting and compelling story, with lots more horror and supernatural elements.
Speaking of pointless - I was sorry to see this millennial version of Tim Drake back. He’s an utterly useless character as written, who brings nothing to the series, either in skills, or potentially interesting storylines.
I’m looking forward to seeing if what’s going on with Beast Boy has anything to do with The Red.
I can’t remember if they had Kory’s eyes glowing green before. I like it. And I look forward to seeing more of her new powers, especially since it seems the bad guys needed that energy. And was it just me, or was part of their chant at the end “Azarath”?
It sounded like the name bone mask guy was Arthur Holmwood. That, and making him a doctor using blood treatment, was a nice homage to Dracula.
I hope Connor gets to actually meet Superman. It’d be interesting to see who they might get for the role. In the meantime, I like the way they’re putting a bit more Lex into him.

Yes, IIRC at the very beginning they mentioned the name of the temple they were in was the Temple of Azarath (I'm not spoilering this because it's like the first five minutes of the first episode).
Subtitles named the doctor guy Arthur Homewood.
Is this Sebastian character supposed to be Brother Blood (or will become him)?
Tim Drake is my favorite Robin in the comics. He is being held back in this series by them seeming to feel they need a "noob" character every season to train up and introduce... which really seems unnecessary four seasons in. I'm not sorry to see him back per se, because there are aspects to his personality and the like that I think have potential, but they should have had him with more skills to start with, and they need to jump start his training because "No Tim, stay back!" is getting old very quickly.
Despite the fact that I am very squicky with the sort of horror they are going for and have to look away from the screen a lot, despite minor issues so far this is holding together much better than the previous season. We'll see how it continues.
I forget, where did Donna go at the end of last season?

This third episode was….adequate. I suppose.
Raven is powerless, but Beast Boy was still able to bring her with him into what I’m guessing is The Red.
Nightwing got to kick some ass, while saving Starfire (who now has some mysterious destiny).
Superboy is chomping at the bit to take on Mothet Mayhem again (and live up to Superman’s legacy). At least he got to bust through a wall and grab Sebastian at super speed.
As for Tim, it saddens me to think they’ll just keep wasting such a good character. Hopefully, they’ll just write him off the show, instead of ruining him further. If they had wanted to do the character justice, they’d have just left him in Gotham to train with Bruce.

Zombie Deathstroke!!! Although, to be honest, I think still alive Deathstroke was more of a threat.
The fight against the other zombies was kind of lame, at least from the standpoint of Titan strategy. If you know they’re zombies from the start, why hold back? Just let Superboy cut loose with some super speed decapitations.
And it seems the Brother Blood origin is being slightly altered. They’re going with him being a Not-Raven failure to produce the chosen one, but now back door chosen one. Interesting.

Well, at least now we have confirmation the place Gar was seeing was The Red. I don’t recall him having that connection in the comics, but it has been a while since I collected anything with the character. Even so, with The Red being introduced, and Jinx name dropping Constantine, maybe we’ll get to see some Animal Man and Swamp Thing.
Poor Super Boy. Magic really messes him up. It was cool the way they beat the curse though. It’s good to see them expanding Gar’s powers.
I never was a fan of Kory’s coming to Earth having to do with Trigon. I’m still not a fan.
Dick didn’t have much to do this episode, and maybe that’s a good thing. If they focus on him too much, they waste the others.
Long term, I have to wonder if this series and Doom Patrol are going to survive. What with all the cuts they’ve been making. I suppose I wouldn’t be too bothered. The show has been decent, but some things about it suck (especially some recent changes), so getting rid of it might be good.

Well, Conner finally went all Luthor Junior. And he was mostly successful with it, except for the part where he conveniently didn’t think of a work around for his vulnerability to magic. Still, I was kind of hoping his heat-vision facial was the real deal.
I liked the name drops of Buddy Baker and Mari McCabe by mystery dude. And we got to see Gorilla Gar. And it looks like he might be he only one left, after shifting to The Red.
Poor Jinx, but maybe not.
At least Nightwing got to kick that one dude’s ass.
Kory - I’m sure her power will almost consume her, but not quite.
White Raven? Works for me.

Well, the first two episodes of the back half dropped today, and I've got to say....
....it might have been better if they had just let the series die.
I didn't even bother to finish the second episode. Just turned it off. Probably won't even bother with any of the remaining episodes. I'd try to do pros and cons, but I'm afraid one of those lists would be nonexistent.
Connor going evil - oh joy.
Brother Blood doesn't seem to be much changed from before. Except now he can regenerate and get people to obey him. Except his mother, who continues to just manipulate him.
Dick and Kory being brainwashed by evil music. And all they can think of is to record bad memories on kids toys? Seriously? No detective skills to find out how to...and I'm just spit balling here...maybe STOP THE MUSIC. Or perhaps try to remove or negate whatever implants they gave you?
And Tim is just....being as useless and poorly written as he was most of this season.
And then there was the new character, who likes to smell people and somehow knows an ancient Tamaranian dialect that even Kory (whom you'd think got a pretty good royal education on the planet where the language originated) didn't know (except to know she couldn't read it).

I agree the first two episodes were fairly awful. I waded my way through into further episodes though and things get better.
I'm not going to say things are all around great, but there's some particularly good moments. A lot of the stuff with Gar and the Red are really good and there's some welcome guests who, despite one possibly wanting to shout "what the f&$$?!!!?" at their appearance, also gives us a chance to touch upon one of the best Titans friendships that should have been in this series all along.
And finally, finally, finally we get actual Robin.
The Connor plot gets better if you can ignore the fact that he's completely a different character from the one in prior seasons. I mean, not that he's developed and changed and grown, just that they've just completely rewritten his personality.
The biggest problem so far is the problem this entire series has had: the A-plot and big bad are the weakest link, and everything that builds toward it is just either stupid or mind-numbingly boring. But the B-plots and character sidequests are pretty damn good. If you ignore all the parts with Dick and with Sebastian in them, it's a decent season. (And shame about the Sebastian plot being so stupid, because the actor is very good.)
