Gen Con Sub Pick Up Update: It appears the function that autogrants PDF for convention pick up on Subscription items is not working again this year. I've just finished granting the PDFs manually for those accounts with submitted Gen Con pick up orders. If you had Gen Con pick up selected for your July subs and the PDFs are NOT in your Digital Assets, please contact customer service as soon as possible so we can straighten out your pick up order before the show starts. Emails did not go out because I don't want to spam people with multiple subs so you should check your Digital Assets page to ensure they've been added (great way to help find it is to apple/control + F and part of the product name).

Sara, I didn't have a payment decline, but if mine has been pending since the 12th, is it still okay, or should I contact customer service about it? I just want to make sure I'm doing what I can. Thank you!
Everything looks good for your Playtest order, its payment has been settled and is on track to arrive to you near the release date of August 2nd.
Your subscription order is pending, our warehouse is shipping out packages and we estimate to be wrapped up shipping July subscriptions around August 2nd.

I’ve just received an AU$50 charge on my VISA. Seems a very odd amount and I can see this months shipment and the playtest charges earlier in the month. Can you shed some light on this one? I didn’t think I was expecting any more this month.
Edit: all good I THINK it’s just the charge for my July sub.

Good afternoon Sara, my playtest preorder (#4828308) is still showing as pending. I have not received any payment declined notifications and this is scheduled for GenCon pickup. Is this order still in good standing?
The payment for my July subs which are also being picked up at GenCon processed through at the beginning of the week.
Thank you
Jonathan

Playtest Preorder Convention Pick Up Update: Folks, after discussing with the tech team, it turns out the mechanism for Playtest Preorder pick up for Gen Con does not pre-charge for Playtest products. At the show you will have copies reserved for you. You can pick up at either the Kiosk (using store credit or credit card) or the Main Booth (cash, store credit, credit card). We should be sending out an email early next week with information plus an optional barcode you can bring (printed out or on your smart phone) that helps look up your account efficiently. If you want to prepay for your order so you don't have to worry about it at the show, purchase a gift certificate in the amount of your playtest order and apply it to your account now.
I know this is different than how it was expected to work based on how we've done subscription pick up at conventions in the past and I apologize for any confusion we may have caused.
Please let us know if you have questions about this process.

I removed some of my posts and a reply that referenced what I've just learned is incorrect information. We are still providing information to the fulfillment service for package shipping so if you had a payment failure or need to correct your address contact us ASAP and we should be able to still get your package shipped with orders using the amazon fulfillment service.
I would recommend calling us (until 5pm PST) for corrections to Playtest preorders.

No, I just realize the first post still reference July 27th as the end shipping estimate and it should be August 2nd. Internally we've been working off of the August 2nd date for when we expect to have subscriptions all shipped by and I apologize for the confusion this has no doubt caused.
That's rather annoying that the shipment date keeps getting pushed back. The primary reason I subbed was so that I could get the PDF early. It looks like that benefit has been removed completely without even notice until what was previously posted as the last day I would have potentially have to wait if the date wasn't pushed back. :(

The convention months in particular are often a time when deadlines shift around. In general, Paizo usually come in ahead of their shipping date estimates but July/August are often exceptions.
Having said that, “subscribers get their stuff early” is a commonly misunderstood feature of the subscription service. It usually works out that subscribers get their PDFs before they go on sale, but it’s worth knowing that early access isn’t one of the promised perks and that it doesn’t always pan out that way.
I’ve got my subs a few days after streetdate from time to time over the years. It’s very rare, but it does happen.
If you don’t yet have access, it means you haven’t been charged and can still cancel your subscription (if early PDFs was the determining factor in taking it up).

Funny that I preordered the Playtest books as well still no pdf but there are people in Sweden that already have theirs. I also know I'm not alone in this.
Playtest PDFs don't release on shipment, like ordinary subscriptions; they release on street date, like the original CRB ten years ago. Here's hoping the website isn't down most of GenCon like it was back then with everyone trying to download.

Usually PDFs are not free, but if, and only if you subscribe, you get access to the PDFs for your subscription items when your order ships.
With the playtest PDFs being free and the products not part of any subscription, there is no automatic PDF granted on shipment of the books since it's not a subscription. There is no relationship between your physical order and the release of the PDFs.

Yeah. I can't remember Paizo ever doing this before. I also don't remember this being mentioned before either.
From the minute we announced the playtest on March 6, we have been saying that the playtest PDFs will be released on August 2. And when we began taking preorders on March 27, we stated that "PDF editions of the Pathfinder Playtest products will be available for free on August 2, whether you've preordered or not." That was even verbatim in the FAQ.

One thing I do from time to time is referee bridge games. One thing I've learned from that: people do not pay attention to what you tell them, no matter how many times you tell them.

I ordered a copy of the play test soft cover book, Order# 4786632. My confirmation email from 03/28/18 verified that the book would be shipped via Amazon standard delivery to my home address, which is what I wanted. Yesterday, I received an email from Paizo customer service that my book will be waiting for me to pick up at GenCon. I am not going to GenCon, and I want the book shipped to my home address. Help, please!

Subscription update: We just got word from the warehouse that they have finished up subscription shipments! (Or, at least everything that was shippable as of this morning).
If you haven't gotten your subscription shipping notification yet (and are not sure why) please let us know in a new thread or an email.
Thanks!

Thanks!
Same as JohnHawkins above, the website crashes each time I try to make a thread. So... I guess I'll post here?
I haven't gotten notice that my subscription has been shipped (Starfinder Armory, order #5119474).
Never mind, I was able to make a thread!

I see there is no new thread for August shipments....any idea when those will be processed/shipped? Eagerly awaiting Heroes of the Fringe....
I'm with you. Just knowing the date of the expected order spawning would be mighty helpful.

Got my July sub authorization email on July 12th. My shipment arrived today, 29 days later. Not up to Paizo's usual standard, but with all the other crap going on now I'm okay with it. Besides, I got my pdfs a week or so ago. :-)
