I been asking about using Mysticism for computers and/or engineering on an eoxian ship (or ship with a eoxian computer), this is because on the scenario "Into The Unknown" you can use it in say scenario to operate the computer of a ship you board, I wonder if they mean to make this a thing so mystics could have an easier time in starship combat

The only way I saw to make my mystic as a viable startship participant, was to build him with a high INT and make him a skill monkey. I took the feat that gives you two more class skills. I haven’t participated in starship combat but having the ability to be an engineer or science office seemed helpful.

Engineer and science officer synergize well because on round 1 the engineer has no shields to fix and on round 2 the science officer is kind of superfluous compared to the scans

Which is why on the Solider I just built I picked up Skill Synergy for Computers and invested in Engineering and Computers.

Not sure how useful this one might be, since I have yet to GM or play a Mystic, and there seems to be almost no buff spells, but how about:

Page 322
"While your role determines what actions you can take during a
starship combat encounter, on occasion you might want to perform
some other kind of action, such as casting a spell or using a class
feature
. The GM has the final say on what kind of regular actions
you can take, but generally, you can take only a move or standard
action in a single round, and you can take only a minor crew action
(see page 326) during that round. You aren’t assumed to be adjacent
to any of your allies during starship combat, so the GM might also
decide that you need to take an additional round to get close enough
to an ally to affect him with an ability or spell. Any such action is
resolved at the beginning of the round, before the engineering phase.
"

I'm also guessing starship specific spells are on the works for a Starship book.

If they'll come with a new role, require some specific expansion bay installed, or just fit in the option above, we have yet to see.
