I can list the reasons I really enjoyed it. Keep in mind, much of it is preference.
The book is a mini sandbox in the best way. There are both interesting enemies and allies to be found. There is tons of mysteries for the PCs to investigate. Its low level, so environment rules still matter adding to the ambiance of being stranded on a deserted island. The rest of the AP was a big disappointment, but the first book can easily be ran as a stand alone module.

- Great premise (washed up on a desert island) that hasn't been done well elsewhere.
- Uses a lot of rules you don't see elsewhere (heat, disease, etc).
- Easy, un-ignorable plot hook (get off the island).
- Converts very simply into a stand alone module.
- Good group of fun NPCs to help on the island, with some mechanics for interacting with them and a camp making mini-game.
- Fun enemies, with the different factions on the island, where they all are, and what they're doing. Fun mysteries, stories, and mini-stories, for a strong sandbox environment.
Why not read it and garner your own thoughts? Or if you don't have a copy of the module, we have an actual play audio podcast over here.
