Hi folks!
A friend of mine is tinkering with a cleric build for a campaign we're about to start.
He came up with Heroism and Destruction domains, and his idea was to run with the Heroism aura, aswell as the destructive aura at the same time, for +2 to basically everything.
He found this intriquing because of the spell Moment of Greatness, which doubles all morale bonuses for 1 min/level or untill discharged.
We started talking about making a magical item for the spell, since spending a standard action every round (and spellslot for that matter) seems to be a bit much.
But how would it work?
A continuous item to have Moment of Greatness active as much as possible would cost 4000 GP (1st level spell, CL 1, continuous), and it would give everyone within range the effect of Moment of Greatness once per round (so it is still discharged on use), and is "recast" on his turn.
We can't figure out if it's too strong or if there's a rule somewhere that prevents this use in the first place.

He'd still have to reactivate the item every round, which is still a standard action. Also, Moment of Greatness only doubles ONE morale bonus before discharging, not ALL. So he could use it on his attack roll, but then he doesn't have it for damage.
As for the item itself, I think you should make him make it command word. That's actually supported by the rules, for one think. I'm not sure what would happen to a use-activated item that had a discharging effect on it, but I suspect you'd have to doff and don it to get the effect back, which is actually worse for your player.
EDIT: He absolutely SHOULD be spending a standard action every round to keep MoG up. No part of that "seems to be a bit much."

If it is continuous, how does it get reset after use?
As to needing to use a standard each round to activate, I think they only need a standard each time they activate, and it lasts 1 minute. So if it is not used for a while, it only needs a standard per minute.
Much easier to get a wand for 750 gp.
