Envoy Language Monkey?

General Discussion

So I just got the Pact Worlds pdf and was looking at the Tempered Pilgrim theme and realized something interesting. Rules as written give Tempered Pilgrims 2 languages per rank in culture. If you combine that with the envoy expertise talent skilled linguist (can be taken as early as level 3), which grants an extra language per rank in culture, then each rank gives you 3 languages a pop. So by level 11 if you put a rank into it each level you would have 33 known languages from the skill alone, excluding starting languages from high Int, race, or any other source. In the core rulebook, there are only 32 languages listed on page 41.

This would appear to be the fast track to being one amazing translator, which could easily be made into a profession for some extra creds. What are your alls thoughts on this? I rather love it, but it also seems to be a bit over the top and possibly a bit too much. That said should the Tempered Pilgrim get allowed in the Pact Worlds additional content update for society I am thinking of retailoring my icon arbiter Damaya Lashunta envoy negotiator, and worshiper of Hylax, into a tempered pilgrim. I especially like this concept if I can combine it with the Steward Officer archetype for society play as well. That said if I take the Steward Officer, which would grant 2 extra languages as diplomacy and culture are already on the envoy skill list, the route I might switch to a Korasha Lashunta.

Being able to speak any language as an 11th-level Envoy is hardly game-breaking, given that mystics and technomancers can do it at 7th level

It would be a lot of fun though, maybe see if you can hold some languages in reserve for new species you discover on adventures? After mastering the native languages of 20+ species you'd think you would be pretty good at picking up new ones on the fly... at least in a game like this one.

I actually looked back at the language stuff in the core rulebook and noticed you can use a culture rank to learn the sign and tactile versions of the languages too. I rather like that idea as another option other than reserving language spots.
