I do not believe this to be true. I can not point you at something that does not exist.

I will watch this thread though to see if someone actually DOES know of something that would say this...

Not to my knowledge. Pregens have the equipment listed on the character sheet.

edit: Iconic pregens used in typical scenarios are members of the Pathfinder Society and belong to the faction of the character for whom the player applies credit, or the Grand Lodge.
