Will there be 2E Core?

Now that we know Core can be a thing...

If/when the first supplement for 2E comes out, will the campaign split into Standard and Core as we have now?

If it happens later on and your character has thus far used only Core 2E material, can you go Core at a later date?

From the beginning 2.0 will be "core". Core only matters once new books come out.

In my area, Core is a failure.

Agreed on the lack of need for a separate Core campaign at the start of the new campaign.

So far as success/failure of the current Core campaign, I guess its a regional thing - locally we run 1-2 Core tables a week.

I'm currently running a core group through high level modules (and just finished running them through All for Immortality, Hard Mode.) That being said, the Twin Cities (at least prior to retiring and hiatus from public play) didn't really have much of a core following at game days and conventions. We do, however, have a few groups that get together for private core games.

I don't foresee core needing to be an issue with PFS2 until season 12 or 13 when people regularly have 2 or 3 characters at level 9 or above and we have a few extra rules books.

I have played in 1 Core scenario, 1! It was also the last time I saw it offered in my area at any of the local Cons or my FLGS.

CORE is not something you can really wait to have provided to you at a convention or even GameDays. It is highly selective. Even people who participate in CORE, often (usually moreso) still play NORM. The only way to have a consistent CORE game is for the players who are interested in it to communicate with each other and then to the organizers. In my experience organizing GameDays, local conventions, all the way up to the biggest ones, blindly scheduling CORE tables and hoping players sign up is not effective. The audience is simply too small with too much variety in when they want to play CORE and at what Tier. Most organizers are happy to offer CORE, but they need to know there is a demand for it and players will sign up.
