The search function seems broken?

Is it just me or is the search function on the forums much worse than it was before the site makeover? It normally turns out a lot of excellent posts when I use it - now I’ve tried searching several times in different ways for a few subjects and it lists a huge amount of unrelevant posts.

I don't think there were any intentional changes to the actual search algorithms—just to the presentation. Anybody else seeing this?

I am noticing the opposite problem -- searches that fail to find things that they should be finding. Then again, I was looking for products rather than message board postings, so I would not be surprised if both problems exist.

If you could give us a little more detail on what terms and category you are seeing weirdness in, that would help a lot. Some of this MIGHT have been fixed with a recent issue fix today.

The issue I originally reported can still be reproduced. Using the top search window, I searched for "spear" and got results that included "Miniatures (35)". Clicking on that option reduces the count to zero, while clicking on the "Products" tab makes that line disappear completely. I have no way to focus my search to just those 35 miniatures.

I can reproduce that in FF 58.0.2 on a Win10 machine.
