Overload weapon action allow an attack?

Does the full action to use the overload weapon ability of the mechanic allow you to throw the weapon as part of the action to overload it? The wording seems a bit ambiguous on that point.

I kinda feel like it doesn't.. Which is a problem to me. I'm already not sure how often I'd actually use that move.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the explosion isn't meant to happen unless you throw it. So before combat you can sabotage a gun, and either toss it in combat, or trick an enemy into using it somehow. And if the opportunity doesn't arise, you can just use it as a grenade.

And with a resolve point, in the middle of combat you can prep and throw it in one go? I'm not sure how to interpret the wording, but there's a heck of a lot of talk about 'someone' trying to use the weapon, and I don't see how anyone could, even you, if it exploded the moment you finished the action.

It doesn't read like it gives you an additional action with which to throw it. It reads like you sabotage a weapon and then as Kitsch said, you can use it as you see fit - a trap or a grenade.

As in in-combat move I'm sure it's not more efficient than just throwing a grenade would be. As an improvisation it's pretty fun sounding.

Well I guess with all that loot you get from dead folks you can explode-o-prep some of them and just have them ready to go boom if you so chose..

as far as I can tell there is no length of time issue. Though really doesn't feel very cost efficient but I guess you're not really selling much anyway.
Though it is kinda disappointing... Purely on how heavy this stuff'll be so it'll be harder to use.

but I'm the one who still wishes the Mechanic could overload batteries into grenades for free like the soldier's once per battle sorta free grenade.
