How many colonies have sprung from Golarion?

General Discussion

So we know that there is an Azlanti Empire, but have any of the old nations of Golarion created colonies in other parts of the galaxy? And given how the gap has happened, how many have simply just been forgotten?

Is this address in the core book?

(Personally I'm imagining a world called Andorandia, based off of Andoran, and a fleet of ships that look like birds, and more than likely is going to be in my head canon now.)

I think Azlanti accomplished their stuff with great magical power not since reproduced on that scale.

I haven't seen anything to lead me to believe any nations from the inner sea or the dragon empires could accomplish such a feat. Perhaps some individuals have traveled outside the solar system prior to the drift drive introduction, but not a national colony.

Outside of the magical scope mentioned above, drift technology is not supposed to have existed before the new tri-part deity gave it to mortals roughly 300 years ago.
Note: my understanding is that the gifting was shortly after the end of the gap.

I guess that it is theoretically possible to have happened, but I have seen no indications or hints that it has.

But, I'm not fully versed on everything starfinder. So, maybe I missed something.

Generation ships would be the most likely method for nations on Golarion to have colonized other solar systems during the Gap.

It has been mentioned that there were something called "Shadow Drives" that allowed you to move through the Shadow plane. But the experience was less than pleasurable and that they were scrapped once drift drives came online. So the possibility is there.

Still, it might be fun to come across a lost colony of sorts that has ties back to the original setting, but doesn't break the Starfinder setting.

One effect of the Gap is that the colonists will have no records of ever having set out from Golarion or perhaps even of their arrival on their new world. If their nation of origin did not yet exist in the early 48th century AR, their past could be a completely blank slate.

This is sort of what I'm thinking.

I'm also thinking that I would like to design myself a mostly Halfling colony somewhere.

It's almost as if the setting allows for PCs to find an old pre-drift ship traveling on just it's own momentum, far from any planet, with people inside in cryopstasrus, either as the genetically-engineered warriors of a losing revolution, or with signs they blew some weird alien out the airlock... but even if you wake them THEY don't know what happened, since they launched during the Gap...

I think my galaxy will have a long lost colony of Azlanti - left before earthfall, and lost all contact.

The Dead Suns AP has pretty slow level progression. It looks like you'll end up vol. 6 at level 13.

We have mentioned the existence of an Azlanti Star Empire in the Starfinder campaign setting. :)

Bah, MY lost Azlanti colony will be even more stuck up and superior to others than the default azlanti empire by a long country mile.

hmm... nope. They have too much pride to just call themselves the "new thassilonians" Umm, how does "True Thassilonian Inheritors" sound? I was going to go with "Sole Thassilonian Inheritors" but the initials didnt work out so well. Maybe "Eternal Thassilonian Empire"?
