Will the Starfinder Core Rulebook have rules for land based vehicles? I know we obviously have starships and one could even use those rules for planet-side aerial dog fights, but I'm curious if things like APCs or Tanks will make it in? Or at least some sort of ground vehicle to explore planets with?

My gut feeling is that land-based vehicular combat is a prime subject for a future hardcover. The CRB is already gonna be jam-packed with more subjects than the PFCRB, including archetypes, themes, and starship rules, not to mention lore and PF conversion rules.

I'm sure Paizo has land-based vehicular combat on their "to-do" list, but I would be surprised if it is valuable enough (in terms of page real estate) to fit in the CRB.

Yeah, can't see there being space for vehicles in the CRB.

I'm actually okay with that. I'd be okay with a hardcover book that goes into more detail on vehicles, land and sea based combat like in Ultimate combat but more like starship combat. I could prop homebrew some rules until then. Starfinder has quickly become my favorite system just from what I've seen from the simplicity.

The Starfinder Core Rulebook does have basic vehicle rules and a handful of sample vehicles, but there is certainly a lot of design space left open, so I'm sure we'll expand on those in the future.

Hopefully, in the spirit of noblest Star Trek, those rules will allow us to spin donuts on alien worlds in our open framework diesel buggies with pintle mounted machine guns on top. that was Star Trek, remember guys? :P (but i also actually want to do this, no one expects the specops deathcar to burst out of the back of a shuttle!)

Well, color me (pleasantly) surprised! Another thing to look forward to. If the PCs' starship in the Dead Suns AP doesn't have some sort of mule-esque utility vehicle on board, I will be sure to sneak one in there for my group to enjoy.

I'd rather speederbikes and heavy walkers.

Hopefully there'll be a vehicle design system that can cover both of those options, and hovertanks, and gravitic speeders, and sandbarges, and War Rocket Ajax. Just don't nerf them down so that PCs on foot have a chance to fight and win through brute forcce against heavy combat vehicles.

Well, if you have a laser sword and a grappler, and you are willing to swing up under a heavy war walker, cut it's armor open, and throw in a grenade...

Well should that same HMMV that terrorized the PCs at level 5 still be impervious to them at level 15? by that point they are carrying around a man-portable weapon that is likely several times stronger than a javelin missile, why shouldnt that blow away a lightly armored vehicle?
