Two issues into the new Thor and I like it. It's got some humor, and the art is...interesting.
Granted, I've never collected Thor before, and haven't paid attention to stuff going on in his books in forever. So I wasn't aware that he apparently lost an arm and Mjolnir.
I especially love his murder dog, goat and house boat.
Thori is great. :) As is the goat.
I'm not so sold on the multiple hammers thing. Hope it doesn't last to long. Also didn't seem to be used in his Avengers appearances, so not sure what to say about that.
I also really like the role Loki's playing here, even if I've got no idea what he's up to.

Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 should be out this week, so now I'm tempted to make a trip to the comic book store to pick up my stuff, even though I did that last week as well. I don't like to waste a trip on just a few books, and there should only be about 4 in my box.
Although, I did notice that Immortal Hulk #2 is also coming out this week. I did not get #1, but after hearing that it has some horror elements to it, I'm tempted to see if the store has a copy.

A-zombie,
Cosmic Ghost Rider's first issue was interesting. Not sure I'd spare the money for it.
Immortal Hulk though, is VERY good, especially because it's more body horror than it is monster horror.
That and apparently Banner took some Int Drain after having his head aerated... But not so much that the average Joe would notice.

So, when I went to the comic book store yesterday, I did pick up Immortal Hulk. Read the first issue, and really enjoyed it. I'm hoping to get around to issue #2 sometime today.
I also decided to add Ant-man and the Wasp, since it's another Mark Waid book. I like his work. And they had all the back issues. I'm not very familiar with the new Wasp, so I hadn't been aware that Hank Pym had a teenage daughter. But they did some pretzel twists to get her the Van Dyne last name. Reading through the book, they gave her ties to the Red Room, which I had seen before in the MCU, being where Scarlett's Black Widow was trained. Interesting.

Immortal Hulk has probably become one of my new top 5 books. That is, top 5 favorites I'm currently collecting. Not top 5 favorites ever. Too early to tell that.
I've always enjoyed horror themed comics though. One of my favorites of those was from a few years back, when they did a Werewolf by Night 4-issue series.

Pass. After seeing Sean Connery as Quartermain, I don't think I need more of that in my life.
The movie was no more than vaguely related to even the original comic.
Which is admittedly not for everyone, but brilliant nonetheless. The later sequels probably even less for everyone. :)

Saw an article today that DC is going to put out an out-of-regular-continuity miniseries called BATMAN/JOKER: THE DEADLY DUO, with writing and art by the great Marc Silvestri.
This could be really interesting. I know I have plenty of stuff with Silvestri's art, but cannot currently recall if I have anything he's written. It's certainly possible, considering the size of my collection.

They're also bringing back Captain Marvel (SHAZAM!!) to a regular series, written by Geoff Johns. It could be interesting, but I'm hesitant based on the art they shared. It showed at least six Shazam-powered people. I know one was Billy, another was Mary, a third was probably Freddy Freeman. The other three I didn't recognize. I never really liked the idea of a bunch of other Shazam folk walking around.

Not sure I like where they seem to be headed in the aftermath of Flash War. Especially since I saw a description for the next issue of Flash mentioning something about "Wally's last run". Can't remember where I saw it, though.
I've got to say, if they get rid of Wally (again), I may just have to write off Flash. Which would suck. He's one of my favorites. And I've already written off too many other favorites: Green Lantern (too many human GLs, plus I thought the storlines were sucking hard), Batman (although I have eased back into it with Detective), Justice League (just too much stuff I thought was stupid, plus I never thought Cyborg belonged with them).

Also, Marvel is making a come back in my pull list. For the past few years, I hardly collected any Marvel (Moon Knight, Infamous Iron Man, the Man-Thing miniseries). And up until a few weeks ago, I was collecting Moon Knight, Daredevil, and that's about it.
Now, I've got Doctor Strange, Ant-man and the Wasp, Immortal Hulk, Thor, Cosmic Ghost Rider, and Tony Stark: Iron Man added to the list.

"Hey, what else can we do to insult the fans of Wally West? You know, that character who had a successful run as The Flash for 20 years, before we decided to relive our childhood by bringing back Barry Allen?"
"I know! Let's give him a mental breakdown and lock him away in a mental institution."
And.....that is why I will now be done with The Flash. Probably Titan, as well, since the only real reason I was collecting that book was because it had Wally in it.

I agree about shit like that being reason enough for a mental breakdown. This is part of their whole "Heroes in Crisis" storyline.
I just have to wonder how selective DC is going to be in which heroes have a crisis. Like Wally West, whom DiDio doesn't seem to like. Because if whatever criteria they claim to use was enough to get Wally locked up, then pretty much every damned hero in the DCU needs to be locked up right along side him.
Titans was kind of a disaster from the get go. The only reason I even started collecting it was because Wally was in it.
As for Damien, I try not to willingly purchase any book that little a~@&%+@ character is part of.

Three things:
1. I dunno about Dido's being THAT involved in the selection so much as he saw some stuff and said "This should work!"
But yes, more than just Wally needs to be locked away and possibly the big 3.
2. Titans...I thought had promise but it kept morphing in REALLY horrid ways.
2. Damien was better off when he was just working with Jon.

I might have to give the new Fantastic Four a shot. Although, I understand their have been some big changes over the years since I last collected FF. I recall reading somewhere they brought the daughter of Reed and Sue back.
She featured pretty heavily in Hickman's run on the FF. I think she was around in the run up to Secret Wars.
Not sure what the whole family's been doing since then.

I recall a "What if..." story about what would have been if Valeria had survived the initial miscarriage story. It was, as I recall, two stories - one ended bad, the other ended good.
I had been peripherally aware she had been brought back, but hadn't really paid much attention to Marvel for several years.

I've never considered myself devoted to either one of the big two, going back and forth over the years on which one I buy more books from. The first series I ever seriously collected was Marvel's G.I. Joe, but around the time Wally West took over as The Flash I was mostly collecting Marvel. Then, for awhile, it was equal parts both. Then it was mostly Marvel. Then DC.
For the past few years, it's been mostly DC with a smattering of Marvel stuff. In the last few months, it's going back to a bit more equal.
One thing that's changed over the years, is I think I enjoy the mini-series format far more these days. I find myself wishing both companies would do it more often.

I was thinking the other day about Ghost Rider, and what I would like to see in a new series.
I think it would be cool to take a page from Agents of SHIELD, and have the curse as something that can be passed on to a willing person. Then you have a series showcasing people taking on the mantle of Ghost Rider while trying to right some wrong or bring vengeance against someone/thing.
Maybe they could even take a page from Legends of the Dark Knight, and have a different creative team for each story arc. Then each arc could be whatever length the writer is capable of telling a solid story in.
Could be cool.
