I'm trying to find some options for creatures with the light sensitivity or light blindness. Feats, class features, magic items, mundane items... anything. I know hyper-advanced races like the drow and duergar have certainly come up with ways to offset this significant weakness, but have only found two options: the second-level protective penumbra spell from Ultimate Magic, and the mundane smoked goggles from Ultimate Equipment.
I could pretty easily make a magic item but prefer to use official rules if I can before resorting to house rules. Thanks to anyone who can point out something I've missed.

Adventure at night.. Ignore the claims of vampire by the petty pitchfork wielding mob..
Yeah those are the only two that I can think of without a prolonged search..
My focus is on drow, duergar, and morlocks. Specifically because I want to plan a Darklands campaign. Thus your night idea - while certainly valid - wouldn't work in this instance. I'd just like some of the higher-end bad dudes to have protection, such that the PCs can't just lay down daylight spells to overpower what would otherwise be climactic battles.

Very expensive Lenses of darkness
The problem with that...everytime you are giving your player 12 000 gp, which i wouldn't recommend and if you are using the npc wealth 12 000 gp is a decent amount.

Not having eyes should work. Takes a lot of feats though, so would only work for a very specific bad guy, or group their of.
Better Answer!
Duration 1day per level, but dismissable. 1st level wizard, 2nd level cleric. Is a Necromancy (Curse) spell so is not destroyed by light spells.
You loose darkvision and similar, but treat all light levels as though they where one level darker. So bright light to you is normal light, and normal light is not bright enough to trigger light sensitivity or blindness.
Could also probably use a Bestow Curse spell on them for the same effect. A fairly effective punishment/banishment spell for disgraced minions of the dark societies. Cast out to live with the surface dwellers.
Casting Bestow Curse on an agent sent on a long mission, and then remove curse should they succeed is much cheaper than making custom items for all of them. Night Blindness is even better if they are only going on a short mission, and makes a really inexpensive potion that you can have your PCs find a couple of on the bodies of fallen enemies.

Well, you can be blind at level one with the Blind Zeal trait (the primary benefit is that this gets you the blind fight feat, not that it renders you permanently blind.)
Start as a master of many styles or an unarmed fighter to bypass the prereq in order to pick up Blinded Blade Style at level 1 so you can get improved blind sight ASAP. I really want to try playing this character sometime, not completely sure what class to go with though.
