I'm running Rise of the Runelords for the first time for my players, we just finished the first chapter Burnt Offerings and are looking forward to the rest of the adventure path.
Two of my players lost their younger sibling in a housefire when they were young in real life, so I'm having misgivings about running the Misgivings chapter in it's entirety.
I plan instead to run the two sidetrek adventures in Wayfinder fanzine's #7 and #9 to keep the party levels up, and truncate the Misgivings chapter to offer the required info without the potentially damaging reminders of real life trauma.
Does anyone have some suggestions on how to go about this?

I understand your concern for your players, but you are basically saying you're going to remove the central part of the entire adventure. This is a horrible idea. If you're not going to run the chapter with the most famous haunted house in Pathfinder lore, then you should just run a different module altogether.
You can tone down the burning aspects, but what you're really talking about is ruining the entire module. I'd suggest just running a separate module entirely. Perhaps you could slot in Fangwood Keep or Realm of the Fellnight Queen instead.

While I understand the need to be delicate with this, fire is only a very small part of the Misgiving's history. It would be easy enough to remove the fire-related haunts (just change the manticore to poison damage rather than fire and replace Plummeting Inferno with the PC believing their husband (Traver) has grabbed them and thrown them out the window rather than thinking they're on fire.) Instead of a burned-out husk, say the servants' building has collapsed from rot and neglect.
I can't think of any instance within the story as-presented that the characters believe the house itself is on fire or has ever been on fire.
