Modules and this forum

Community Use

Not sure if I am posting in the right place, but I was thinking of writing a module and posting it for free for people to use. Is this the place I could post it so people in the community can use it? Or is there another forum that is more appropriate?

I would also like some suggestions on how to post it. Could I just google doc it and allow public access or?

Any and all replies are appreciated. Thank You.

You're welcome to host it wherever you like and post a link to it here. Just a few notes:

• Assuming you're using Open Game Content (generally game mechanics) from the Pathfinder RPG, make sure you read and follow the OGL, which you can find in any OGL product.

• If you intend to use any of Paizo's intellectual property apart from Open Game Content (such as our setting material), make sure you read and follow the Community Use Policy.

• If you want to put the Pathfinder Compatibility Logo on it, see the Compatibility License.

As far as I can tell you can use Pathfinder settings and material under copyright, but if you use any actual names, locations, characters, or anything else that they came up with themselves you can't use that.

For example you can set it in the Pathfinder universe but you can't set it on Golarion. You can use well-known fictional names like Baba Yaga or Asmodeus but you can't use the Paizo versions of Baba Yaga or Asmodeus. You can use Hell but you can't use their version of Hell.

Actually, the specific legal requirements are link in the Paizo staff post just above yours.

Those are legal documents. They explain precisely what you can and cannot do. IF you don't follow those exactly, Paizo can make you remove your material from anywhere you post it, here or anywhere else on the internet.

Following vague, non-legal advice is always risky. Especially when the necessary legal documents have already been linked to.
