Our GM is having us make up 'proteges' for our epic level characters as part of our story.
She has given us some guidelines we have to go with to build them: Characters are 16th level, have 92 points to spend to make their stats on a one for one basis. Stats at first level can be one 19 and up to two other 18's before racial adjustments (yes I know crazy).
Note that in her game we get 3 feats at first level and one feat at every other level dividable by 2.
These proteges also have to be somewhat like our characters so mine must be "someone with martial abilities and divine casting abilities, and at least 2 feats the same as yours". (I play a Cleric with a dash of fighter).
I am going with Inquisitor since no one at our table has ever played one and the class mechanics really intrigue me.
I am looking for suggestions for a sword and board Inquisitor. He worships Kelemvor (it is a Forgotten Realms game) and despises the undead and outsiders who interfere with the transition of souls to their proper final planes.
For RP reasons dealing with his backstory he is an Angle Blooded Aasimar with the Birthmark and Divine Tracker traits.
The core rules and all the 'Ultimate' books are available for use as are almost all 3.5 rule books with the notable exclusion of Book of Vile Darkness, Book of Exalted Deeds and Savege Species.
Sword and board is a lock in and cannot be changed. He gets Bastard Sword for free as he worships Kelemvor.
He is also taking Quicken spell and Practical Metamagic: Quicken which in our GM's game makes Quicken a ONE level adjustment (yes I know, insane as well, believe me I have told her), those 3 choices meet the feat guidelines for his mentor so they cannot be changed (and really one level quicken is too good not to take on almost any caster).
What other feats (and spell suggestions) are good for a melee Inquisitor since I have never done one before. Looking for more experienced input here. Thanks for any help you can give.

you might want to look up some of the sword and board two weapon fighting builds, LOTS of those on the forums.
I think Gorum's armor is a cool spell personally (low level obviously, but might be worth while since so many undead use natural attacks)
Might also want quick draw, quick draw shield and precise and point blank shot in there as well. Then you can start any fight with your heavy repeating crossbow (you get that proficiency for free as an inquisitor) fire until they get close, and free action draw your ssword and shield. Dont forget to put bashing on your shield)
anyhow those are off the top of my head.

This is disturbingly similar to an NPC I was just working on...
Feats: EWP Bastard Sword (Bonus), Improved Initiative, Judgment Surge, Combat Expertise, Power Attack, Improved Shield Bash, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Divine Interference, Still Spell or Silent Spell ; Quicken Spell, PM: Quicken
Teamwork Feats (as Inq bonus feats): Precise Strike, Allied Spellcaster, Shake It Off, Escape Route, Lookout
Recommended Spells: Coordinated Effort, Dimensional Anchor, Dispel Magic (& Greater if you can), Disrupting Weapon, Flame Strike, Invisibility Purge, Judgement Light, Lend Judgement (and Greater), Lesser Restoration, Sacred Bond, Silence, True Strike, Undead to Death
Equipment: Caster's Tattoo, Heavy Steel Shield of Disruption (as it can be enchanted as a blunt weapon for shield bashes), Ring of Evasion (so no effect on any save which is made), Luckblade (or other means to get a reroll), rod of ectoplasmic spells, abjurant salt, some means of flight / levitation, gravewatch pendant ; wands of paladin spells - extended veil of positive energy, extended veil of heaven, bestow the grace of the champion & holy sword ; wand of extedned wind wall (for vampires) optional :) See if you can have the sword or shield enchanted to have the hilt / handle
Tactical Notes: take "profane" for all judgement bonuses so as to stack with sacred bonuses (counter-intuitive, but true) ; Teamwork Feats + Coordinated Effort, especially on allied spellcaster & lookout ; use spring attack to deliver the touch abilities for the Repose Domain (I'm assuming that's what you're going with as an Inquisitor of Kelemvor)
Sorry the formatting's not pretty - trying to get out of work. Hope that helps!

best route to go with sword and board is shield master, he cant take shield master until BAB 11, but its still really really good
lvl 1) Two-Weapon Fighting + Improved Shield Bash + Double Slice
lvl 4)
lvl 6)
lvl 10) Shield Slam
lvl 14)
lvl 18) Shield Master
it leaves you some open feats which you can use on other class abilities, if you wanna take power attack go for it
i would recommend craft magic arms and armor, and craft yourself a Sunblade, since it does a d10 damage and is considered a light weapon (while still being a bastard sword and thus you get to be proficient with it) still so you only take -2 from TWF and can carry a heavy shield
that shield should also be maxed out to the brim, making it a +5 bashing mithral heavy shield should be enough, if your GM lets you cheese also make it a +5 defending weapon so you get +12 AC for carrying it, and shield master lets you still treat it as a +5 weapon
get you some celestial plate armor, or mithral breastplate
stat array is gonna look something like: ummm perfect?
you care about STR and DEX because you're going TWF for shield master, and you also care about DEX because you are using light and medium armor
