Albus boosts
Con +1 to 14/+2 mod.
HP 33 (Did I figure this right? 10 first level, +8 CON, +15 for three extra levels.)
ABP
+1 Savings throw.
+1 Armor (chain shirt) +1 Greataxe)
Added Lore (Kobolds)
+1 to most of my ranked skills. Perception now +13
Animal Companion - Whisper
(Haven't trained him yet so not expecting much here.)
Didn't change equipment yet. Will restock in town.
BTW Albus did mean to take the admantine hammer.

HP 33 (Did I figure this right? 10 first level, +8 CON, +15 for three extra levels.)
Almost, but we've been using 1\2 HD + 1 for HP leveling up, so you should have 36 (assuming your FCBs haven't gone to HP). ;)

GM Stargin |

Yeah 1/2 HD + 1 means you get 18 HP from Levels 2 through 4.
Animal companions start with one bonus trick. It makes perfect sense to me that Albus would have been trying to teach Whisper something for a while and it's just now that Whisper gets it. You can play it however you want to though.
You can add the adamntine hammer to your character sheet too.

Albus Wodeward |

Fixed the character sheet.
Albus 36 HP
Has the Adamantine Hammer What does it weigh?
And Oops he qualifies for 1 first level ranger spell but has no Holy Symbol on him. Albus doesn't expect to work the miracles of the gods anyway so I'll leave that open to GM creativity.

OK, I got my skills updated with the addition of background skills.
I had ranks in the following which are background skills:
Knowledge (history) 1 rank
Linguistics 2 rank
Profession 1 rank
So of the 8 skill points I assigned 4 to regular skills.
+2 Sleight of Hand
+2 Profession
+2 Spellcraft
+2 Sense Motive

This is my first time playing in a game that utilizes those rules, but I have to say, I'm kinda liking it, too. As far as loot goes, I think it's a better option than "Oh, look guys! There's five cloaks of resistance +1 stashed here! And two of them are small! Isn't that lucky?" =)

Albus Wodeward |

Yesterday was busy.
I do like ABP rules for a less overly magical campaign. It never made sense for a bunch of nobodies running around with more than a King's Ransom on their backs.
GM Stargin - I've looked at your GM cheat sheet and checked with some of the recent GM screen rolls (after they did not matter anymore).
Unless there are modifiers that I don't know about I think they haven't been updated in a couple of levels. I.E. Albus's Perception is now a basic roll of +13 not +11.

Albus Wodeward |

No not really some of the issue is that fox isn't build into PCgen as an animal companion at least as a default. I'll see about building him by hand or look into the very long customization options.

Aelerie Mirisen |

Tiiiired. I've been up the past two nights with a sick puppy. Anyway, I'll bet that pales in comparison to what you all with kids have to deal with, right?
I have a question for you GM Stargin now that I'm getting access to more intelligent creatures to summon. Would Aelerie instinctively know what her summons are capable of (i.e. their special abilities and what not)? And assuming they're reasonably intelligent and she can speak their language, could she ask them to carry out fairly complicated orders (like flank with him, scout ahead and report back)?

GM Stargin |

He was noted to be pretty much a small dog in the last module Albus. Though if you have other ideas I'm open to them.
There's also this. No idea where these rules came from but man, us RPG people can get very detail oriented...

Animal Companion
Bonus Tricks 1
Link (Ex) A master can handle her animal companion as a free action, or push it as a move action, even if she doesn't have any ranks in the Handle Animal skill. The master gains a +4 circumstance bonus on all wild empathy checks and Handle Animal checks made regarding an animal companion.
Low-Light Vision (Ex) You can see x2 as far as humans in low illumination. Characters with low-light vision have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Low-Light Vision is color vision. A spellcaster with low-light vision can read a scroll as long as even the tiniest candle flame is next to her as a source of light. Characters with low-light vision can see outdoors on a moonlit night as well as they can during the day.
Mod Bonus Tricks
Scent (Ex) You can detect approaching enemies, sniff out hidden foes, and track by sense of smell. You can identify familiar odors just as humans do familiar sights. You can detect opponents within 30 feet by sense of smell. If the opponent is upwind, the range increases to 60 feet; if downwind, it drops to 15 feet. Strong scents, such as smoke or rotting garbage, can be detected at twice the ranges noted above. Overpowering scents, such as skunk musk or troglodyte stench, can be detected at triple normal range. When you detect a scent, the exact location of the source is not revealed--only its presence somewhere within range. You can take a move action to note the direction of the scent. When you are within 5 feet of the source, you pinpoint the source's location. You can follow tracks by smell, making a Wisdom (or Survival) check to find or follow a track. The typical DC for a fresh trail is 10 (no matter what kind of surface holds the scent). This DC increases or decreases depending on how strong the quarry's odor is, the number of creatures, and the age of the trail. For each hour that the trail is cold, the DC increases by 2. The ability otherwise follows the rules for the Survival skill. When tracking by scent you ignore the effects of surface conditions and poor visibility.
Share Spells (Ex) The master may cast a spell with a target of "You" on her animal companion (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on herself. A master may cast spells on her animal companion even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion's type (animal). Spells cast in this way must come from a class that grants an animal companion. This ability does not allow the animal to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.

Sorry I've been... a bit spotty recently. On top of packing/traveling and getting sick, A good friend of mine died recently (hiking accident), so I'm still a bit in shock. Hopefully I'll be back to frequent posting soon. In the meantime, feel free to bot me if necessary.

Virdel Harg |

Yeah, sorry for your loss. Do whatever you need to grieve and don't worry about something as insignificant as this game.

Javell |

Thanks. The biggest hit was that it was just so unexpected, really.
Anyway, since I'm the kind of person who needs to be busy doing something, and while I'm still traveling (so I might still be a bit spotty), I'm going to try and get back into the swing of things before I get too far behind.

Albus Wodeward |

Crazy busy last week for me, including blown tire, but nothing too bad.
Aelerie, trust you and yours are doing well, and hope you can return soon to your home with little trouble.

Aelerie Mirisen |

Thanks for your patience and well wishes, everyone! We just got back home at 5 this morning after a 17 hour drive. Exhausted, but other than a little flooding in the kitchen and laundry room, no damage!
I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.
Albus, I hope things have settled down on your end since Monday. I had a tire blow up on me once. Scariest thing that's happened to me while driving. I'm glad to hear that you're alright.

Albus Wodeward |

Good to hear Aelerie, may the clean-up go swiftly and well. I wasn't going fast at the blow out so more annoying than dangerous, found a tire shop open on the day before labor day so good! Everything getting back to boring - err normal. Thanks for your good wishes, and double back for you and your neighbors, the news sounds downright apocalyptic.
