Torn between two Balazars

So for past few weeks I have been asking about what character to play in our session of Wrath of the Righteous, fellow members pointed me to the gnome summoner, Balazar. As I am reading more about him, I too find him interesting because he fits right up in my alley as a STR character (or at least someone who can fight), but I am torn between what instance of that character to use.

Can you help me understand the differences of the two iterations of Balazar, The Summoner (from WotR and from Summoner Deck)? A comparison review, if you will, where one is better than the other and vice versa?

This goes for his eidolon, Padrig as well (since I learned you can mix-and-match the Eidolon (Padrig) with the character card (Balazar)).

As far as I know, you aren't supposed to mix and match Padrigs, you supposed to use the version of Padrig that comes with the version of Balazar the version of Balazar that you are playing.

The mechanics of Wrath of the Righteous will work much better with the version of Balazar that comes with the game. The mythic paths that you use will rely on one of your character's base skills (strength, dex, etc.).

The class deck version of Balazar has unique combat mechanics that have him using set dice rather than a set skill, thus, he won't be able to use his mythic path in combat. This makes him severely limited when encountering high level mythic banes in the later stages of the AP.

This is not true for OP, at least. AP is even more freeform, under the it's-your-game-do-what-you-want convention.

Balazar Polymancer also has the ability to swap around his cohorts, so some freedom is intended.

Wrath Padrig (and his wily assistant Balazar) is a mighty hammer that can smash through most everything in the set, and I suspect you will be plenty happy with him.

CD Balazar is intended to provide a more subtle, more castery counterpoint who cycles his deck quite a lot more. I suspect he'd make a better 2nd choice for Wrath, though possibly a better 1st choice in some other sets.
