Feral, Imma kidnap you in the nicest possible sense.

Hmm... that might be doable. =)

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

I'm starting a new random campaign. You're invited.

Oh?

What's the premise?

Scarab Sages

Male Tengu Druid (Swamp Druid) 4
Stats:
HP: 34/34 || AC: 19 (21 w/ shield), touch: 12, flat-footed: 17 (19 w/ shield) || CMD: 17 || Fort: +5, Ref: +3, Will: +8; pond scum || Init: +4 || Perception: +15; low-light vision, carrion scent

Hey all. Just to clarify, level 7 pregens?

Yup.

Random premise.

So, a sandbox, most likely taking place in the mountains of Taldor, at this point.

Sounds random. =P

I might be persuaded. Who else are you trying to invite?

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

It's an open invitation to pretty much everyone, but so far I've got Andrea and ShadowyFox. Oh, and a wild card. I wanted to let you know specifically, though. :)I'd be willing to have a party of six if it meant you were in it.

Oh alright. What's one more game?

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

YAAAAAAYYYY!
(And no pressure. If it gets to be too much you can drop out whenever you want.)

Honestly I'm more worried about DMing too much than I am about playing too much. DMing takes x10 as much time/effort. Your game should be fine.

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

Das ees guut.

Scarab Sages

Male Tengu Druid (Swamp Druid) 4
Stats:
HP: 34/34 || AC: 19 (21 w/ shield), touch: 12, flat-footed: 17 (19 w/ shield) || CMD: 17 || Fort: +5, Ref: +3, Will: +8; pond scum || Init: +4 || Perception: +15; low-light vision, carrion scent

So, looks like we have a wizard and a cleric, yeah? Any preferences for the others from the other players? I'm not bothered. Paladin maybe? Gunslinger?

RAGE Barbarian 7 Hp 80/89 DR1/- ; AC18(20)/T13/FF18; Perc +11; Init +2; Fort +7(+2), Ref +4, Will +3(+2); LBSword +15/+10 (2d8+12)

Reporting in. Walter das Sombras here.

Welcome to the party.

Grand Lodge

Female Half-elf Gunslinger 7
Stats:
HP: 67/67 || AC: 22, touch: 17, flat-footed: 16 || CMD: 25 || Fort: +8, Ref: +10, Will: +6(+8); +2 vs. enchantment, immune sleep || Init: +6 || Perception: +8, low-light vision

Decided to go with the gunslinger since we have Amiri for the frontline. Always wanted to give a gunslinger a go, anyway. Don't mind the alias name--just used an old one instead of making a new one.

Scarab Sages

Male Keleshite Cleric 9 (HP 75/75; AC:26, T:10, FF:26; Fort:+10 Ref:+5 Will:+11; Init+0; Perc+3) (Effects: None)

I'm here. Hey Trout!

Liberty's Edge

M Half-Elf Inquisitor of Desna 10 | HP 77/77 | AC 34 (37 vs crits) | T 22 | FF 31] | AC 28 | T 16 | FF 25 | CMD 29 | Fort +11 | Ref +7 | Will +12 | Init +7 | Perc +18

Truchita! Fancy meeting you here! I forgot that you knew Feral - he and I have bonded nicely as Ulfen bros in a Reign of Winter PbP, and now he's going to kill me as Ezren in this PFS game.

@ Aerynne - good idea on recyling the alias - you inspired me to use the alias for the lower-level PFS character who will one day reap the rewards if we survive this scenario. I've got enough alias clutter from vanished PbPs, don't need to add to it with pregens.

I just hope I don't confuse myself with the names too much.

Scarab Sages

Male Keleshite Cleric 9 (HP 75/75; AC:26, T:10, FF:26; Fort:+10 Ref:+5 Will:+11; Init+0; Perc+3) (Effects: None)

Oh hey there Haka, it's Talon. I didn't realize it was you until you mentioned being in reign of winter with feral.

Liberty's Edge

M Half-Elf Inquisitor of Desna 10 | HP 77/77 | AC 34 (37 vs crits) | T 22 | FF 31] | AC 28 | T 16 | FF 25 | CMD 29 | Fort +11 | Ref +7 | Will +12 | Init +7 | Perc +18

Hey Talon! This PbP world gets smaller and smaller. Looking at your campaigns, you're in 2 of GM Tektite's PFS games, and he's a player in a game with Trout and Kanthuun and me, which is run by Drovya, and I'm sure it goes on from there. So there's this whole connected network amongst a bunch of games.

I wonder how many independent networks like that there are, or if we'd all end up connected by PbPs at some point?

Scarab Sages

Male Keleshite Cleric 9 (HP 75/75; AC:26, T:10, FF:26; Fort:+10 Ref:+5 Will:+11; Init+0; Perc+3) (Effects: None)

Pretty much. It starts off as a bunch of independent networks, but eventually we all end up playing together.

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

Heehee.
/lurk

Liberty's Edge

M Half-Elf Inquisitor of Desna 10 | HP 77/77 | AC 34 (37 vs crits) | T 22 | FF 31] | AC 28 | T 16 | FF 25 | CMD 29 | Fort +11 | Ref +7 | Will +12 | Init +7 | Perc +18

A couple of thoughts:

My preference would be to get into the gambling den the usual way, by showing we have money. If Cairo comes back out, we can try to spread that money around, so we'd each have a couple hundred gp to show - if we can get past the guards who we've already shown fairly empty purses.

Failing that, we can try to go for the window. We can try to climb it, and hope not to get caught if we fail. Or I can dimension door myself and two others into the window - but we don't know what's inside. So one of us could scout a bit, which would be useful whatever we end up doing. And Amiri has +13 on Climb.

On an unrelated note:

When I'm playing a pregen on behalf of another PFS character, should I call the character by the pregen's name (Ezren, in this case), or by the PFS character's name (Terrill)? Or I could just go ahead with using the pregen alias I made and not worry about having an extra alias kicking around.

Unfortunately, I think our chances of getting past those guards was ruined by not sharing the cash around in advance. I think going through the window is a good enough alternative.

I am kind of wishing I picked Merisiel now :)

I'm referring to myself as Lirianne but it doesn't really matter. Pretty sure you have full rights to rename/regender/redescribe the pregens however you like.

Heh, I don't think there are any rules against renaming pregens. I'm typically going to go by whatever the profile's name is anyway.

Okay, I'll go with Terrill and try to remember he's not an inquisitor who charges into melee.

And I agree, we're heading in the window, but it's a better option than I initially thought.

As I'm not Linark the paladin who charges in melee ^^
Oh, wait, i still charges into melee!

Hey, I'm tryin'.

Not in the US so my posting times might be a bit weird in comparison, though.

I think we're going to call it a night. We made some good progress to make up for you guys being TERRIBLE SLACKERS today but I don't want the barbarian to miss too much.

RAGE Barbarian 7 Hp 80/89 DR1/- ; AC18(20)/T13/FF18; Perc +11; Init +2; Fort +7(+2), Ref +4, Will +3(+2); LBSword +15/+10 (2d8+12)

We're smooth as flying bricks ^^

When I'm full time online no one else is ^^

We're kind of waiting on the wizard to determine a course of action.

Sorry, I didn't know you were waiting on me. I was waiting to hear more about the off-kilter wall opposite the spider.

Aside from dispelling it, I'm not sure what Terrill can do here. And the strong aura is 12th-20th level, so dispelling that isn't so likely.

Thoughts, gang?

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

Yes. Take the pink one.

RAGE Barbarian 7 Hp 80/89 DR1/- ; AC18(20)/T13/FF18; Perc +11; Init +2; Fort +7(+2), Ref +4, Will +3(+2); LBSword +15/+10 (2d8+12)

Hmmm. No one can deactivate that trap, if it is one. So let's trig it and move foward. But a dispel might work, if you try hard enough.

If Cairo wanted to burn his Summon Monster spell, we could summon a poor innocent something-or-other to, uhm, investigate :)

Scarab Sages

Male Keleshite Cleric 9 (HP 75/75; AC:26, T:10, FF:26; Fort:+10 Ref:+5 Will:+11; Init+0; Perc+3) (Effects: None)

Well burning a summon monster might be good, unless it's a trap that hits everyone. I could also burn my dispel if you think we need to

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

If the CL is really high, that would be hard to pull off, Cairo/Talon.

If you summon something that's intelligent/we can speak to it, we can all go hide in the other room while we send the poor little thing in :P

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

Oooh! Summon a burning trout! I hear those are awesome if a bit metagamey!

Female Human Witch 4

I stand corrected. That worked beautifully.

Okay, per Feral's suggestion, posting here because I can't get the gameplay thread to post for me.

Here's what I got when I previewed the post in that thread:

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31

And if you need to see actual dice output, here are the crappy rolls I got in the discussion thread.

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

I'm not going to worry about it in this case.

Cool. Most gracious of you.

Well, i believe this char is of little use in the traps ahead, but remember we were warned about the spider's illusions. Have to sleep, cya in the morning, good luck!

Yeah, time for me to crash also. The never-sleeping Feral and our Australian comrade will have to keep us going.

Female :D Check out my fetching opercles!

Feral sleeps! I know he does. Otherwise he would be comatose or dead.
