Here, everyone usually stops at The Parthenon for Gyros after a night of drinking. Or that place that advertises "Burritos as big as your head" which are terrible.

I stopped going out some time ago and now I hardly ever do it, but even when I went out quite often I never could stomach eating by night.
If I eat past 12 in the night I might turn from Gizmo-Kileanna to Gremlin-Kileanna.

Pasta for breakfast? Hmm...For some reason in Spain there is something called drunken macaroni (aka hangover macaroni). It consists on going out until 6 in the morning or later, getting home drunk and hungry and eating cold or microwaved macaroni with tomato sauce lefovers that the myth says they taste like heaven and then going to sleep.
Back when I was in college, cold pizza for breakfast was pretty common.
Also back then, the morning-after hangover "cure" that everyone swore by was the Oil Slick Method: Bacon and eggs from the neighborhood diner... the greasier the better.
(My experimentations indicated that it doesn't actually work, buy, hey-- bacon and eggs!)

Attempting chicken tikka masala this weekend. First time trying Indian cuisine. We shall see how it goes.
I've never attempted anything too complicated in indian cuisine. Nothing aside from curry rice chicken. Tell us how it comes out.
Today I just made steamed broccoli and grilled pork loin. I just added some garlic to the broccoli and some salt. I wanted to keep the basic flavors so it wasn't an impressive recipe. But it was really good anyway. Sometimes one can get good results by just getting everything on its right point without adding a lot of ingredients.
I am an extreme person. I can use a lot lf spices and complicated stuff or just keep it as simple as I can.

I love chicken tikka masala. I have a really good recipe for it that I found on Pinterest. It's one of those dishes that seems like it would be complicated, but is actually fairly easy to make. The hardest part about making Indian food is finding the ingredients, but there's an Indian grocery in town, so I can get all of the spices and such without spending an arm and a leg. I buy garam masala by the pound instead of the bottle, which is good since I do not add seasoning by small amounts. :)

We have a new Indian restaurant in my town. I'm sooooo excited. It's very good and the prices are reasonable AND they have a buffet!

Chicken Tikka Masala recipe
I add more spices than the recipe calls for because that's just how I cook. I like cooking the chicken in the oven for this because it seriously reduces the chances of screwing it up, at least for me. :)
I'm definitely trying at least one of them!

Odyssey to find a vending machine that works: one is broken, another took my 2€ and kept them, the last one is out of drinks... There are vending machines everywhere but I am not willing to keep roaming the full hospital for a drink.

So... I made refrigerator pickles (just the best way to make pickles known to man...) and I used too much salt (mistake number one, not awful, but it made my pickles a little salty) and I used a pre-mixed pickle seasoning, (mistake number two, I felt lazy) The definite clincher though, was when I bit into the pickle, thought, huh... that... tastes off a little... And so, I looked at the ingredients of the pre-mixed spices, and wouldn't you know it, I've got all-spice and cloves in my kosher-style dill pickles.
I hate stupid people who work at spice factories now.
Edit: not as much as I hate myself for putting it in, but seriously, who thought "oh! All-spice and Cloves! lets sell that in a dill pickles spice mix!"

I got two levels up on this quest and got a fresh drink as a reward. It was a +2 drink.

I worked on the morning after working yesterday in the evening so it was get home, have dinner, go to bed, wake up 6 hours later, get to job. So now I am taking a well deserved rest.
I went out for a walk by the river and also spent most of the afternoon sleeping. I love action!!! XD
Uneventful day, I guess.
I've also updated my camping journal and started to draw something. But I still have a lot of work ahead to make it into something half decent.
I threw out my back today. NOT by helping move an old bed from my house and upgrading to a new one. No. None of the lifting and twisting around did it. I bent over to pick up a small bolt for the bed frame and stood up. I have to run a Mythic game for 8 players tonight and I'm gonna be so stoned on pain meds it's going to be a comedy of errors. I might as well cue up "Yackety Sax" now.
I threw out my back today. NOT by helping move an old bed from my house and upgrading to a new one. No. None of the lifting and twisting around did it. At least you have your new bed!When I moved both Dalindra and me ended injured. Dalindra even had to go to a physiotherapist because he ended completely screwed up. Second floor with no lift is not good when you have to carry furniture.

Going on with my cheesecake experiments, having the cocoa cheesecake and the coffee cheesecake being successful. Today I am making an attempt on cherry cheesecake with some fresh sour cherries that were in risk of spoiling.
I am unsure on how removing of part of the cream from the recipe to substitute it for cherry puree will affect the results. I added more sugar to the recipe so it isn't too sour, but it still has to cool in the fridge for some hours before I get to know if I have screwed up or not.

When our daughter was 3 months old we moved to a new apartment, but we were 2,000 miles away from the nearest family. While my wife took care of the baby I did all the moving by myself after work (landscaping) with a 1984 Ford Escort wagon.
