Right. Sorry for being simplist about it. I tried to shorten the information a lot and I made many mistakes because of it.

There will likely be surgery. Preliminary plans are to do the surgery through the Sinus Cavity. What's left will be treated with radiation and chemo.
Sorry that the treatment will be more involved than you hoped. But at least they can treat it and here's hoping that it will all go as well as possible.

And now, I've learned that the insurance provided by my employer is inadequate. It's only for Dental and Vision, and doesn't cover Hospital visits. Seriously considering "jumping ship." Or training for a different career entirely. I am so disappointed.
That....doesn't seem right. Are you sure? Sometimes there are different insurance cards for the dental and vision insurance than for the medical insurance. Maybe you had the wrong card? I mean, I have never heard of an employer offering dental and vision but not medical insurance before. Usually they just dump the dental and vision to save money, not the other way around. Not entirely sure if that would be legal. Anyhow, good luck sorting out the insurance mess. So much paperwork. Always so, so much paperwork. :/

Hopefully for a lighter note, I got to see Iron Maiden in Nashville, TN Tuesday night. A couple of my players took me on an all expense paid trip there to see my favorite band of all time. This was my 7th time to see them, and the opening band, Ghost, was pretty entertaining as well. We didn't have time to visit the touristy places in Nashville, but hopefully I'll get a chance to go back and do so sometime.
This was something really, REALLY out of my comfort zone, but good friends and better living through pharmaceuticals got me through it. I'm forever grateful for my players, who are not just people sitting behind piles of dice but true friends.
Aww. You have some awesome friends and that sounds like a really cool trip. :)

On a lighter not, and slightly more on topic (or at least what little bit of topic we have here), I tried out some changes to my chicken tagine recipe last night. Not totally happy with it. It was alright, but not a combination I would use again. Mostly the olives I chose this time were too bitter for the dish, and I made some errors with the spices like forgetting to add bay leaves.
Tonight I'm trying a new recipe for a chicken and wild rice casserole. I am cautiously optimistic.

Sometimes I struggle to say things and they end coming out completely off.
Yesterday everything just came completely off, not just translations. I cannot be sure if it was a lost in translation or just one of the many things I messed up for no reason.I haven't been cooking anything too complicated these days because I am short on time and on morale. But I still plan to do a couple of things for my birthday in two weeks. I'm probably deciding to do something simple so I can take it to share with my workmates.
I haven't had an RPG session in about two weeks. I hope I can do something this week. It should be easier to GM the one I am doing for Dal on solo, but I haven't felt in the right mood for days.

Tonight was not my night for cooking. The wild rice chicken casserole was revoltingly sweet from the dried cranberries. Might have been alright if they were unsweetened cranberries, but good luck finding those. And then I tried making Nutella brownies for dessert. Well...they weren't brownies, but I did get a pretty darn good Nutella souffle out of it, so hey, the recipe doesn't work as promised, but now I know an easy way to make souffle if I ever want to impress someone. :P

Yeah, those days are the worst. Sorry that you were having a day of awkward. Hopefully things are better now. :)
Planning for birthday dinners is always fun. Although I almost always end up making hot pot for my birthday. It's not exactly creative, but I love it and my family has no patience for it the rest of the year. :PI have this weird love affair with Japanese food. I can't eat it at restaurants usually because wheat and fish allergies, but I make it at home and it's my ultimate comfort food. When I'm sick it has to be miso soup. When I'm really stressed out, I make vegan sushi. Tamari braised pumpkin is literally the best thing ever. And of course the rest of my family is like we hate Japanese food...please, please stop trying to feed us seaweed. :P

In this case I am doing something to put in the resting room at work for my workmates. Others usually bring chocolates or cookies. Last year I took homemade cookies but I am thinking of something different this year. I already have an idea or two, I just have to decide which one I'll choose.
I love japanese food too and I am lucky that Dal loves it as much as I do. Spinach and sauces based on tomato or cream/milk are the main disagreement, as I love them and he doesn't.

It's a gardening miracle! A volunteer tomato plant where the Little Tomato Plant Of Horrors grew last year (for those who are new we had a tomato plant grow over six feet tall with occasional tufts of fur found near it in the morning).
Really makes up for the bunnies eating all but one bell pepper plant (What the f&$! Mister Owl, we had a deal!).

Kileanna, I'm doing well, so far, but I don't know when the surgery is. I think they're waiting on more information on the Pituitary hormone levels, as well as making sure my blood pressure and blood sugars are within limits.

Well, Chinese food varies in China depending on which area/community it's from, so maybe that's the reason.
Good point. I just figured the differences in American culture had a regional influence. I found the Chinese food in California much more vegetable oriented whereas the home-style stuff is much more geared to the grill and deep fryer.

Given the amount of time there've been Chinese restaurants in the US, it'd be surprising if you wouldn't have gotten some regional differences - especially considering that the first ones show up before (comparatively) cheap frozen foodstuff transportation was possible.
Kebab didn't make it to Sweden until the 1980s, and my hometown's still managed to end up with a distinctive sauce for it (based on observed out-of-towners reaction to late-night take-out snacks, at least).

Pizza with no cheese can be good but it's not pizza at all!!!
In Spain we call that "coca" and it's pretty good.
I also like focaccia bread a lot, and it could be done something similar to a cheeseless pizza coming from a focaccia as a base.
A good crust and a good cheese are the essence of a good pizza. I know a couple of pizzerias here that use good ingredients but just a so-so cheese or a precooked crust and the results are from forgettable to plain bad.

I'm panpizzual. I have yet to meet a pizza I disliked. Crust wise at least. There are toppings I don't much like, but I'm pretty forgiving. I ended up eating a lot of different free mistake pizzas during my long years as a pizza driver.
My personal favorite is Greek pizza, that halfway point between deep dish and thin crust that has the positive aspects of both, but that is more childhood nostalgia than anything else.

When we first moved in our first apartment in Seattle we ordered a pizza with extra cheese but when we got it had hardly any cheese so I helpfully pointed out the lack of cheese and that we ordered extra cheese (assuming they forgot the extra cheese, which happens) the guy looked at the pizza, seemed pretty impressed with it and said "no, there's extra cheese on there"
