Pizza.

It had been a long time since I burned myself so it was probably just a matter of time. :-)

Look like people are back tonight, but now im feeling anti-social. Ain't it the way?

That's the way to never be pleased.
If you want to talk there's no people.
If you don't, you cannot get rid of them.
XD

Yeah balance is the key to life once you find it your set but before oi.

You win this round Diablo's unique item..

*Vanishes*

Yes! One point for the inanimate object from an old game that is still better than many new ones!

Its the Horadric cube i'm pretty sure

I also thought this looked the Horadric Cube, that's why I chose it as an avatar.
But the name it's so abstract for a reason.

A person that I had met not a lot of time ago, who was friend of one of my best friends and players, called me a "Diablo unique item" as a way to say that I am a special person in a positive way, after having GMed a game for a group I was in.

This guy is one of the best GMs I had, even though I could only play with him once, and also a wonderful person. Receiving a compliment like that from someone who barely knew me really touched me.

So a few years later I still use "Diablo unique item" as a joke title.

I'm glad it's on the mend. I've never been burned badly, but I'm somewhat of a pyrophobe so I'm extra cautious when cooking.

I'm fairly tolerant to heat from my 12 years in restaurants and bakeries. :-)

S%$# happens sometimes. :-)

I've had way worse burns. :-)

I've had some nasty burns too, specially when I was beginning. So I got used too.

This place is pretty nice. I guess. Do you have soy friendly organic water. No. That's okay. I guess. I'm just going to stand over here and review your bathroom on Yelp. Are those your best cups. Okay... *sigh*

Maybe folks have run out of recipes?

I don't know. But I did notice that the Server was down.

I don't really like copying recipes down and I take pictures of my food so infrequently.

GF made Japanese style golden curry. It was good super filling. Sweet just a little spicy. Texture a bit odd and I would of liked it a bit spicier but all and all quite good.

Is that what this thread is for? Today I made rose petal candy . . . the recipe is the same as that for rose petal marmalade, but with the following modifications:

  • Forget you only have half the rose petals you need, and put in the full amount of sugar and water
  • Accidentally cook the marmalade so long that all the water boils off
I'm considering heating it in the microwave to make a sort of syrup. As it is, there is absolutely no way this is a spreadable substance.

It happened to me once with lemon... I made candy and people loved them xD

Today I made homemade burgers for lunch. I did them really quick because I didn't have a lot of time but they were good!
I used ground beef, salt, pepper, basil, parsley and some cream cheese for the patty. Then I fried some Padrón peppers, and did the burger with tomato, lettuce and manchego cheese. It was a different way to do it and it was pretty good.

These days I am being really busy and unable to be online a lot. But today was a pretty good day though I am pretty tired.

Mmm, burgers...

I made burgers for dinner last night. I was going to grill them on my gas grill, but my propane tank was empty, so I pan-seared them on the stovetop.

I used the "Smashburger" method: roll the ground beef in your hands into a loose balls of roughtly 1/4 pound. Get your skillet very hot, then put the balls of ground beef in the pan. Immediately press the ball flat with a spatula to that the patty is about 3/4-inch thick, then season with a little salt and pepper. Sear for about 2 1/2 minutes per side.

I served them Southwest style: A slice of Monterray Jack cheese, sliced tomato, sliced avocado, sliced pickled jalepeños. I also used black bean dip on the bun instead of ketchup.

They were delicious!

The only downsides to that cooking method is that you get beef fat spatters EVERYWHERE, and the kitchen gets filled with smoke. (Thankfully, I thought to unplug the smoke detector before cooking.)

I haven't had a burger in forever...

Black bean dip! I haven't tried it but it intrigues me.
I used tomato sauce instead of ketchup on mine. I usually go for a more standard recipe but I wanted to improvise something different today.
I shape the burger before cooking it. Your way sounds interesting and I'll try it the next time I make burgers.

Ooo...

If you can find them, a set of burger presses may come in handy.

Today on a cooking show, I saw funnel cakes being made.

I didn't know they even existed.

What? The burger presses? They exist, it's just that not many people use them these days. People are content to buy pre-shaped burger patties in bags or boxes.

The funnel cakes xD

Oh. They are county fair food made to order. The funnel cake makers usually have two or three pots of oil going at a time, just to keep up with the demand.

They make me think a bit of torrijas, but torrijas are made with old bread.
Torrijas
But the shape of funnel cakes is funny!

The batter for the funnel cake is drizzled into the oil, as if a funnel were used, thus creating the layered effect.

Or find it much easier to hand-shape the patties. I've tried burger presses in the past, and honestly the cleanup time and extra storage space in a gadget-filled kitchen aren't worth the effort.

This is also true.

To give them a perfect shape I do a giant meatball on a piece of plastic wrap, press it until it's round and then wrap it and press some more after wrapped. The shape is perfect and if I am not having the burger at that time it's already packed for storing xD
I also use that technique for doing nuggets, the round croquette-like ones have a prefect shape like that. Sometimes I even do homemade sausages like that, boiling them with the plastic on.

I just got home. Tired now. Going to bed. Good night, everyone.

Good night!!! (Uhm... it looks like a sunny morning here)

Absolutely! Whatever that means. :-)

So... I am eating pasta for breakfast? Well... I've done more bizarre things in my life.

About to leave to job right now. Today I made three colored pasta with veggies and ham: zucchini, carrot, red peppers, tomato sauce (the one I cooked the other day) and some slices of serrano ham that I had left (I have too few so they went unnoticed). I replaced part of the salt for soy sauce because I felt like doing it.

Pasta for breakfast? Hmm...

For some reason in Spain there is something called drunken macaroni (aka hangover macaroni). It consists on going out until 6 in the morning or later, getting home drunk and hungry and eating cold or microwaved macaroni with tomato sauce lefovers that the myth says they taste like heaven and then going to sleep.

I don't know why they are macaroni with tomato and not other food nor why drunken macaroni are so popular. I have never tried them.
