Some questions.

Pathfinder Adventure Card Society

Ok, so, my girlfriend and I have finally caught up with everything. As of now, we own most of the class decks and have complete the 3 previous Adventure Paths twice and have 'completed' Mummy's Mask up until the point of release.

Still feeling the Pathfinder itch, we decided to check this "Organized Play" out, but it kind of confuses me.

So, I was hoping that there were some people out here, willing to answer some questions. :)

1. If I want to start with a character, let's say a rogue, I can then use any rogue, but only make my starting deck out of cards from the Character Add-On Deck "Rogue" with the Basic-trait and the "number" B?

2. When building locations, you use cards from the Box associated with the Season, but not the cards from the Character Add-On deck?

3. You don't keep Boons you find during a scenario, you get to pick one type of acquired boon and then draw a card of your choice with the same type from the corresponding Class Deck which?

4. Do I really have to register myself to the Guild website and keep track of everything that happens with an Chronicle Sheet?

5. There is no one near us who plays PACG, just my girl and I, can't we just 'host' our own events with the two of us at home? I assume yes, but this is more or less the same as question 4.
(It seems so obvious to just download the Seasons and go play..)

6. I have not downloaded any of the Seasons yet, since they cost a dollar or 4, but I assume the rewards explain for themself? Like; "Deck Upgrade" and "Skill Feat"?

Thanks in advance,
I assume OP is the same as PACG in the rest of the rules?

0. Check your terminology, character add-on deck is an expansion for a specific set. Class decks are used for organized play. They are not equivalent in the slightest. Your character must use a class deck, whereas character add-on decks can be mixed into the box (optional for 4 or less players, required for 5-6 players).

1. If playing by Organized Play rules, your deck must be comprised only of cards from your Class Deck. Your Class Deck is not mixed into the box, it is kept separate. You are limited to the one class deck you chose, you can't mash two rogue class decks together to expand your boon pool. You can play any character with a class matching your class deck, it doesn't have to be one of the characters included with the class deck itself (so playing RotR Merisiel with the rogue CD is fine).

2. Use the box and its appropriate character add-on deck (optional for 1-4 players, required for 5-6 players). Never mix in class decks with the box. You are allowed up to 12 promo cards mixed into the box, but never more than 1 copy of each promo.

3. Correct, at the end you pool together all boons you acquired. Then each person can select one of those as their deck upgrade (no doubling up). So if you acquired a Blessing 1 during the scenario, the person that chose that upgrade selects a Blessing 1 or Blessing B from their own personal class deck to add to their deck.

4. Yes. Your character is not legal in organized play if you don't.

5. Yes. You can host at home for organized play, as long as the chronicle sheets are recorded and reported.

6. Yes.

7. You will also need to download the Guide to Organized Play, as it explains the tier system and other OP-specific rules.

8. If you just want to play the scenarios instead of having official organized play characters, you can do that too. In that case, follow the same rules as the normal game with respect to deck building and deck upgrades (mixing class decks into the box as desired). You'll still need to follow the tier system as far as feat rewards are concerned, as your normal feats are not handed out as part of scenario rewards. If you do this, do not register the characters online or keep chronicle sheets for them, as they are not legal for organized play events.

Yes, you can use any Rogue you own. From page 8 of the Pathfinder Adventure Card Guild Guide "you can substitute any character card of the same class (along with a matching role and token card) from a base set or Character Add-On Deck"

The second statement is mostly true but you use the following guidelines from the same page as above:
1. Use cards that have the set indicator B and the Basic trait.
2. Use cards that have the set indicator B without the Basic trait.
3. Use cards that have the set indicator 1 and the Basic trait.
4. Use cards that have the set indicator 1 without the Basic trait.
5. Use cards that have the set indicator 2 and the Basic trait.
6. Use cards that have the set indicator 2 without the Basic trait.
…and so on, up to the adventure deck number equal to your current tier.

2. When building locations, you use cards from the Box associated with the Season, but not the cards from the Character Add-On deck?

Correct.

3. You don't keep Boons you find during a scenario, you get to pick one type of acquired[/b] boon and then draw a card [i]of your choice with the same type from the corresponding Class Deck which?

Correct.

4. Do I really have to register myself to the Guild website and keep track of everything that happens with an Chronicle Sheet?

No one can force you to report the games you play but without tracking they won't be legal if you ever say take them to a convention for example.

5. There is no one near us who plays PACG, just my girl and I, can't we just 'host' our own events with the two of us at home? I assume yes, but this is more or less the same as question 4.

Yes you can host your own games at home. "Private Home" is an option as a location when you create the event. Also but creating the event there is the option to make it public so the potential exists to find players that way.

6. I have not downloaded any of the Seasons yet, since they cost a dollar or 4, but I assume the rewards explain for themself? Like; "Deck Upgrade" and "Skill Feat"?

Each scenario has a listed reward. Additional explanations and reward structures are given in the Pathfinder Adventure Card Guild Guide (a free download)

Thank you Skizzerz and Skullkrak!

As far as Termninology goes; you all knew what I meant. Haha.
I am, however, aware of the fact between the difference of a Class Deck and a Character Add-On Deck. But much appreciated, anyway.

Right, looks like I might be playing Seasons then. :)

Time to register and find myself some Dollars to download those files!
