I'm looking for one, or possible two characters for my Out of The Abyss campaign!
Requirements:
-They must be built with 1347 xp (3rd level)
-There is no character role REQUIREMENT. However, we would like a martial character, or sneaky character to fill in a gap.
-Currently, we have a rouge/paladin, cleric, and a wizard
-We have a few npcs with the party. If you would like to build a character "as them" per say, which would make it much easier to join the party.
-You must be okay with a posting rate that can sometimes slow down, due to RL
-Make a backstory that says how you got into the underdark, which is what the entire campaign is about. If you are "playing as an npc", than the backstory is not required, as it is provided in the campaign
-Here is the gameplay thread:http://paizo.com/campaigns/OutOfTheAbyss/gameplay&page=last
-Feel free to look at it, if you wish.

Sorry for not posting earlier, bit here is a list of the npcs:
-Eldeth
A female dwarf. Former shield dwarf, of Gauntlgrym, extremely loyal. Was captured by the drow, but escaped with the characters
-Topsy and Turvy
Two male deep gnomes. They are brothers and are very loyal to each other. One is very quiet, while the other is more outspoken. Was captured by the drow, but escaped by the characters.
-Jimjar
A male deep gnome. Quite roguish, loves gambling, and was caught spying on the drow for the deep gnomes. Knows quite a lot about the underdark. Was captured by the drow, but escaped worth the characters.
-Celia
A human, I don't think the gender was mentioned yet. Was rescued from corrupt myconids by the party, after surviving horrible mutations. Was part of one of the characters scientific expeditions into the underdark, but was captured by the duregar and somehow ended up with the myconids

You guys just need to stat out the npcs like you would normally build a character, and then update the character to 3rd level. If you don't want to use a npc, simply create a character as normal. Also, if you would like to play as Topsy or Turvy, please PM me.
As for starting gold, please use the amount listed in the PHB.
Also, the sources you can use are:
Players Handbook
Sword Coast Adventurers Guide
The Mystic
That Old Black Magic
The Elemental Evil Players Companion
And the revised Ranger
If you would like to use anything that is not on that list, please send me it so I can approve it.

Hi. Jereru here, taking over Eldeth Rockbiter, the dwarf.
A member of the reknown Rockbiter Clan, famous for its top quality jewels. Eldeth was under Drow custody and released later on. She is willing to seek for her own payment in return.
Still the Combat Maneuvers to pick, I'll do that tonight. As for background, I'll investigate in the game thread and see what's of her (apart from what you want to tell me, of course).

PCs:
Carson Jarroc is our tough-as-nails Cleric -- solid AC and decent in combat.
Lanezra is our bluffing Paladin mega-scholar -- solid AC and decent in combat.
Absalom is our gnome Evocation Wizard -- who rescued Celia and saved us from a TPK.
We need a real fighter-type (fighter, ranger, barbarian, whatever) -- in my opinion -- as Lanezra is more like a medium-BAB fighter (highest Ability is INT and started out as Rougue).

Thanks for posting that info Lanezra! :)

Not a lot is given on the background, even in the book. All it says is that she was a shield dwarf from Gauntylgrym, so you can elaborate if you want. Same goes for anyone playing a npc.
As for Jimjar, he was a spy from Blindingstone, sent to gather spy on the drow. However, he was captured and imprisoned with the characters, and managed to break out with them

@ ULTRAGEEK:
Still tinkering around a bit with this.
I was thinking of a Half-Orc. A survivalist sort of combatant. Either a Ranger, or a Slayer.
I haven't played either a ranger or a slayer before.
So I wouldn't mind trying either if you think that would be a better fit for your group.
• Ability Bonus: +2 to STR
• Acute Darkvision (90 ft) — replaces Orc Ferocity
• Cavewight +1 to Kn (dungeoneering) and Survival while underground — replaces Intimidating
• Chain Fighter: proficient with flails, and spiked chains and dire flails are martial weapons — replaces Orcish Weapon Familiarity
• Orc Blood: Human and Orc for racial affects
• Skilled: +1 skill point per level — replaces (regular) Darkvision
• Stats — STR 14(12), DEX 15, CON 14, INT 10, WIS 13, CHA 8
• Need decent WIS for spells, as well as tracking
• Stats — STR 15(13), DEX 15, CON 14, INT 10, WIS 12, CHA 8
• WIS doesn't need to be as high, because slayers don't cast spells
Thanks!

Oh dang; I thought you said Celia was a part of scientific experimentation - not that she was a part of a scientific expedition.
Thinking that she'd been experimented on by the duergar and then ended up with the myconids as they did their thing would have made her perfect for The Alice class. Ah well. I'd still be interested in Derendil or Ront if they're are still alive in your campaign.
Where is the party currently in the campaign?

Lanezra |

Guys with knowledge of the campaign -- please use spoiler tags when appropriate so that, if there's a chance of us Players not knowing a thing that you already know, you don't spoiler for us.
If I have some time I'll write a little blurb of what we've done. It'll have to be 3rd person because I certainly won't have time to write in Lanezra's voice.

I'm sorry. I'm DMing this campaign and there are other NPCs you could start the game with. The DM didn't choose those (you could start with up to 10 NPCs, this game only introduced 5). After reading the gameplay logs, I shouldn't have spoiled anything based on what I've noticed for this campaign so far.

I know nothing! :D

I feel like Celia would be perfect for the The Alice class from A Red and Pleasant Land. And the mechanics fit in perfectly with the feel of the campaign.
Question: what happened to Derendil or Ront? I would have loved to play as one of them, and I've been wanting to play a barbarian.
Derendil or Ront did not make it out of the prison :)
As for the Alice class, I'll have to do a through read. It looks good so far, but we will have to change "1 game hour" on the exasperation table to pbp. Also, Lanezra, no need to write the what happened so far thing, I'll do that tomorrow. Also, Xunal, I have to go now :( Will try and review it tomorrow :(

Thanks!
It looks good. Now, all you have to do is convert it into 5e :)

Is the spot still open?
Yeah, just waiting till everyone posts their character, and then I will choose
Whoops! I think I made an error here.
I thought this was a PF conversion of a D&D setting.
Obviously wasn't reading everything.
Sorry about that.
It's ok :) I should have made it clearer. Are you still interested though? :)

Recap:
-In the beginning of the campaign, the characters are trapped in Velkynvelve, a drow outpost far from the light of the sun
-However, the characters manage to break out, along with several npc's
-Lost in the Underdark, the players decide to head to Neverlight Grove, then Blindingstone, then the surface
-The party finds the darklake, creates a raft, and sets sail!
-However, throughout their journey, they keep on noticing a dark mass in the water
-While "sailing" on the darklake, they are attacked by the fish people known as the Kuo-Toa. They later reach the city of the kuo-toa, Sloopbludop.
-In return for rations and treasure, the characters agree to work with one of the leaders of the community in his fight against his daughter, who is creating religious dissent.
-The characters agree to pretend to be sacrifices as part of a fake "peace-treaty"
-Their ploy ultimately fails, because of the arrival of the powerful demon lord demorgorgon!
-Escaping the power of the demon lord, the characters manage to make it to Gracklstugh, the city of the evil Duregar
-There, they learn that many of the duregar have been inflicted by a madness, which might be linked to the sudden arrival of Demorgorgon
-Leaving Grackstugh, the characters head to Neverlight Grove, and find signs of drow pursuit
-At Neverlight Grove, they agree to work with some hunters to try and capture a grick, and after they do so, one of the myconids goes mad
-The mad myconid begins to lead them to a "wedding", one associated with the demon lord Zuggtomoy.
-The characters also meet Celia, who has been horribly mutated by Zuggtomoy. They manage to partially heal her, but she still bears a lot of scars and is in a lot of pain
-After a near TPK, the characters manage to escape, along with Celia.
-While waiting for Celia to heal, the characters are victims of dissent raised by Sorveign Phylo, who believes Neverlight Grove is only for myconids and the characters should leave.
^And that is where we currently are. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

I better give it a miss. I don't have any D&D 5 materials.
It looks like you've got lots of other potential recruits.Enjoy!
