This recruitment is for Pathfinder Society 2e.
I will start a long running, consistent table of players for a list of scenarios that will take a party of brand new characters to level 5.
This is inspired by GM Frost's A Level 1-5 Adventure of PFS (2E) Escapades, which I was fortunate to participate in. Most of all, my hope is for a party who can establish good long-running RP between the characters, since they’re not having to make new introductions for each scenario!
IMPORTANT The original table ran for 2 years and 3 months. This should give some idea of the commitment required here.
I’m looking for:
* New (0 XP) PFS characters
* Players who can adjust their strategy based on their teammates
* Good party composition
* MOST IMPORTANT Players who can commit to the full list of scenarios and timeline to complete.
Level 1
• S99-01 The Second Confirmation
• S99-02 United in Purpose
• S03-01 Intro: Year of Shattered Sanctuaries
* i'm still considering an adjustment or two in level 1
Level 2
• S04-01 Intro: Year of Boundless Wonder
• S01-14 Lions of Katapesh
• S05-12 Mischief in the Maze
Level 3
• S05-01 Intro: Year of Unfettered Exploration
• S01-23 Star-Crossed Court
• S03-13 Guardian’s Covenant
Level 4
• S06-01 Intro: Year of Immortal Influence
• S01-06 Lost in the Spirit Road
• S06-05 Silver Bark, Golden Blades
--------------------
We will utilize the following tools for various aspects of our campaign:
* RPGChronicles website as the platform for the Sign-Up Sheets
* Google Sheets for managing Character Info and Macros
* and Google Slides for displaying NPCs and Maps during gameplay.
When I can I may create Aliases for some NPCs, particularly recurring ones. Examples of when I’ve done this in the past: 1, 2. I find it brings them to life more and makes them more prominent or memorable for the players (or so I hope!)
Applying:
If you’re interested, please answer the following questions in your posting below:
1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
3. Are you amenable to using the block initiative system, in which PCs in the active block may post their actions, resolved in posting order; the GM rolls secret checks unless DCs are provided; players roll their own saving throws; and the following symbols are used in combat posts: ◆ (one action), ◆◆ (two actions), ◆◆◆ (three actions), ↺ (reaction), ◇ (free action)?
4. Most importantly, are you willing to commit to playing with the same group for the long term, barring unexpected personal events that may prevent you from continuing?
There will be up to 6 seats. NOTE I will be reserving one of the 6 seats for player Warah (You can probably figure out why on my main profile :sweats:)
Recruitment will remain open until February 5, 2026. After that date, a post will announce the closing of recruitment. I will then spending time reviewing the submissions, I will then review all applications over the following days. At that point I’ll appreciate your patience depending on the number of submissions I get. I’ll then notify the selected players via private message. Once the selection is complete, a post will be made to announce that the players have been chosen.

I could bring a new character that I can build fresh that I haven't played on, but is registered number wise.
Open to most roles, but wouldn't mind being an elven animist to cover out of combat healing with recall knowledges focusing on Nature and Religion while dabbling in Occultism.
On the other hand, can build an elf tank if no one else wants to be the tank.
(I love guardian builds)
| miteke |
Well, I'm interested in a core class I have not played yet (which is most of them :). So a Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard, Rogue, Champion or Fighter. As you can see, wide open. I enjoy spell slinging, but I also enjoy the simplicity of a bare bones melee character. From the choices others are playing, I'm leaning towards a Fighter. Probably play just a simple human, but I'm not picky and might take Orc if a Fighter. I am an extremely reliable player, block initiative is fine, and I really like playing with a consistent group.
If selected, please PM me. Recruitment threads do not show new posts.

If you’re interested, please answer the following questions in your posting below:
1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
- Most likely an elf, and can be open to skills/support/tank
- - Animist/Guardian/Rogue/Wizard
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
- I can provide at least once a day every day. I'll be checking the thread multiple times a day.
- I feel that block is good for forum/pbp so am good!
4. Most importantly, are you willing to commit to playing with the same group for the long term, barring unexpected personal events that may prevent you from continuing?
- Fresh character in repeatables? Oh yeah, let's get a proper group together!
Also, I agree with the PMs since it would be easier to track.

Hello, I would like to apply as well.
1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
I am thinking about a wayang psychic or a fetchling animist. Both would be in support of the party with some particular abilities.
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
Of course, I am used to post regularly.
Yes, block initiative is very good.
4. Most importantly, are you willing to commit to playing with the same group for the long term, barring unexpected personal events that may prevent you from continuing?
I love to play longer with the same party.

I would like to participate:
About the questions:
1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
Well, out of 13 PC's that I have they group as: 6 dwarves, 2 gnomes, 2 orcs, 1 half-orc, 1 goblin, 1 ratfolk so I guess my type is either: something green or something clad in steel ;)
I don't mind playing any of the roles, I think I never did make a cloister cleric so that could be the day to make one, alternative would be barbarian or monk. I like casters for versatility, but also plaid some tanks (althou mostly in some caster classes ;) so would be cool to make some classic frontliner)
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
Yes Sir!
I don't mind the above!
4. Most importantly, are you willing to commit to playing with the same group for the long term, barring unexpected personal events that may prevent you from continuing?
No issues whatsoever, I think the most interesting would be to find dynamics with the players. In any case I am open to participate

Hello, I will also throw my hat in the ring. This is a great idea.
1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
-I'd like to put forward a Human Changeling Alchemist for this or Human Sylph Fighter. I've always been enamored in media with characters born of two worlds that start with low self-confidence and, over the course of many adventures with companions, find their best self in the end. Primarily a bomber alchemist, it would cover recall knowledge, and be a jack of all trades with elixirs, having been in charge of their hag parent's cauldron and potion mixing. The fighter would be sword and shield from Hongal.
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
-Yes, that shouldn't be a problem.
-Yes, block initiative is good with me.
4. Most importantly, are you willing to commit to playing with the same group for the long term, barring unexpected personal events that may prevent you from continuing?
-Absolutely, I love the idea of a long-term group to build a story with.

1. Chirurgeon Alchemist w/ Barbarian Dedication (see below), focused on healing and making use of Bestial Mutagen for combat, who contributes to ST-based and INT-based skills.
2. Yes. I'm in the "you get to post" rather than the "you have to post" camp generally, and expect the same from my players. Sometimes, as a player, I may step in to help bot a fellow player if it'll help get the game unstuck. I feel that it is important to "free up" the GM to focus on the story side of things.
3. Yes - and a big fan of using ◆↺◇ as it is the exclusive language of the system.
4. Yes!

Hello, me, it's me again. (Or at least someone who was mistaken for you in another recruitment post.)
1. I have a completely non-mechanical character concept that could slide into any role. Well, actually, it's completely mechanical: an automaton who is part of a set but has... lost track of its counterpart, and figures that the Society lets them go lots of places to look. I'd probably prefer to play one of the PF2-specific classes, but can be flexible. (If the answer is 'just pick something' I can do so.)
2. I have one large work convention in August that could take me out for up to a week (though usually I can manage at least a non-narrated combat turn each day). Other than that, I have no problem posting daily.
3. Already doing this in my other games, so no trouble.
4. I am, and have done this before a couple of times (Pete H.'s dwarves and another less focused campaign that involved Warah).

1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
> Zinari Diamonds is a female Catfolk. She’s a gambler by trade, elegant and sophisticated (or at least she thinks so). She was originally built as a witch (Patron: Spinner of Threads), but I *just* recently rebuilt her as a magus (Laughing Shadow). She brings mobility and flexibility to combat, along with roguish skills and secondary socials.
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
> Absolutely

I'd love to throw in my hat for this too!
1. I have a Dwarf Sparkling Targe Magus mostly ready to go. He would bring some tanky goodness, but also some magical utility and damage. I also have wanted to play around with a Clawdancer Swashbuckler, so that could be an option too, though just at concept now.
2. Absolutely can post regularly.
3. Block Initiative works!
4. I love seeing familiar faces in scenarios, so it would be great to have the same group throughout. We can really build on past experiences unlike a lot of other PFS games!
| Ira kroll |
1) I am thinking of a Centaur/Guardian. It will provide protection to the group, and, if there is a Commander in the group, a mount and special protection to the Commander.
2) Most days I post multiple times (except for Saturday). Occasionally I must take two (at most three) days, but, I will give fair warning for that. I will also include BOT instructions.
3) Block initiative is fine. I'm actually a fan of the GM rolling saving throws if that will speed along the action. (Though, I only rarely use it in the two campaigns I'm running.)
4) I prefer long-running campaigns. One of the campaigns I'm currently running is in it's second year. A prior campaign I was in, sort of faded out after five years (we weren't able to encourage a replacement GM).
I've got a spreadsheet of a path to seventh level using only repeatable PFS scenarios. Here's the link. I will need to update it for the seventh season as new scenarios come out.

1. Contemplative Starlit Span Magus, Time Traveler background (even though it's kind of a bad fit for a Contemplative). I haven't played Magus before or even seen one in play much, but ranged damage and knowledge skills, I think.
2. Yes
3. Yes; I've been using block Initiative as a pbp GM for quite a long tiem now.
4. Yes

I'll toss my hat in the ring, I've never done PFS or PBP (outside of something pretty similar over discord), but I've got a few years of 2e under my belt at this point
1. Tengu justice champ. Mostly tanking/protection with an effort to still have respectable damage, should also be able to face to some degree.
2. Yeah, most of the text playing I've done has been a good bit more than 1x a day. I do, however, have the burden of fulltime employment, so it's generally gonna be in a certain time frame 90% of the time. As for botting instructions, I can write a whole flowchart if you really want.
3. I've not used that specifically but it sounds extremely similar to what I'm used to, so should be easy enough.
4. Yeah, makes things easier as far as I'm concerned, and actually lets bigger stories happen. Hell, I'm currently in a (non-pbp) campaign that's been running since before the pandemic, I got no problems with the long haul.

Hello! As a new year resolution, I have decided to pick the game up after a long hiatus and figured to toss my hat here as my comeback to PBP and PFS.
I've long to play a character that is a shield to someone's swords. As such I'm considering a champion or cleric build. In term's of ancestry I have not thought that far.
My commitment will be to post twice daily, In the morning when I wake, and after work. I tend to post more frequently on weekends in past experience, but that last time I played regularly was probably in 2019.
Familiar with the standard PBP routines of the past, and am happy to comply to what the GM wants. And definitely looking to commit to playing long term to build some back some relationships.

1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
I'd be playing an Iruxi shield thaumaturge. Mechanics wise he's a brawler, using his shield to tank and a hammer to strike fear into his foes =)
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
Yes, I was part of a similar group before, and it was a sweet 2 year run that I'm really interested in repeating now that I have a better feeling on how to flesh characters on post games.
Absolutely, I always post my actions in prose and then do so again mechanics wise with a per action spread.
4. Most importantly, are you willing to commit to playing with the same group for the long term, barring unexpected personal events that may prevent you from continuing?
Yes, very much so.

Hello, just throwing my hat into the ring!
1. What is the ancestry and/or class of the character you plan to bring, and what can it mechanically contribute to the group?
Recently I've been itching to give a Bard (I'm thinking Zoopheric, ancestry undetermined but probably just something common like a halfling) or a Commander (I would love to play around again with the PC concept of a Nagaji mounted Commander) a long-haul try so either of those really, just depends if the party needs casting or supportive martial stuff I suppose. Combat-wise, they'll play similar roles of providing support via their character options but the Bard would be a behind the lines, generally staying in safe shortbow and cantrip firing range support while the Commander would be a highly-mobile active support. Boosting morale from the back vs leading the charge personally! For out of combat, Bard has much more to offer as a Face of course and Zoopheric has some nice contribution to be had with animals through it's feats while the Commander would offer much more skills and has more options to take advantage of that through feats.
2. Will you be able to post regularly, preferably at least once daily and once on weekends, and provide botting instructions when you’re away?
One post daily shouldn't be too troublesome at all and weekends even more so. That being said, I'll keep in mind what kind of "routines" the PC should do in case of needed botting.
I'm amenable to that style of initiative, let's PCs in the same block work together, and I use those same symbols all the time on my Discord games. It's become a real habit, honestly it would feel more odd not to use it.
4. Most importantly, are you willing to commit to playing with the same group for the long term, barring unexpected personal events that may prevent you from continuing?
Staying committed to a game hasn't been a problem and I don't plan to change that! 2 or so years isn't too far off from one of the PbP games I'm in, now that I think about it.

Hi there! Applied for the other marathon group and it still sounds awesome.
1. This character is a Tengu rogue who will, dice gods permitting, be providing melee damage (thief racket) and trap finding with a healthy dose of training and eventually expert proficiency in a number of Dex, Int, Wis, and Cha skills. I don't have an ironclad idea of his build progression and figure I'll adjust to what can help the group succeed.
2. I will post daily as a default minimum and will provide notice and botting instructions whenever I know I might be away for a few days in a row. I'm not in any other long-form PBP games and won't be looking to join any if I am a part of this group.
3. Yes to all of the above. The more I use these forums, the more I can appreciate standard notations to keep things consistent and avoid slowing things down from confusion.
4. I'm in for the long haul. Only morbid outcomes could keep me from seeing this through.
Thanks for considering me.

I'll sign up!
I'll bring an Orc Oracle, focused on buffing/tanking, with some face and possibly Champion Dedication.
I've got no problem with daily responses or the long haul. I'll gladly give bot instructions if I'm ever out for a bit.
Definitely no problem with playing however you want to run initiative; we'll just make it happen.
Thank you for the opportunity!

I have a prototype available for my PC.
Tidepool Dragonet Wizard - Hailong Dragonkin.
This will be my first time playing a tiny PC.
Tiny PCs are fun, and have their own challenges. I used my AcP for a tiny awakened animal. So far, it's been great getting into places most can't get into.

Gosh! I saw your message just now in the other table I am in and I apologize to have required extra effort to get me involved - I don't know how to turn private messages on and I didn't know they were not on by default. I'll get myself in gear immediately. Thank you for not giving up on me.

With that, recruitment is now officially closed.
Thank you all for your thoughtful submissions. It was not an easy decision (as evidenced by the time I needed!). If my bandwidth opens up a bit more in the coming future I'm not against running a second table of this.
Though I see the idea is starting to spread already, even beyond my recruitment :)
