Okay, so, um...

This thread started with questions about Asexual rights and now we're talking sexuality?

Um...

Um...

It might be a thin-veiled moral about how the life of the asexual people in our society looks like...

It's interesting to me to see this as a case where the issues almost come around the circle. There sounds like there is at least some similarity of experience between asexuals and those of us who cling to traditional sexual morality.

To provide a context here, I believe in sex as something to only be shared in a couple who have made an unbreakable, lifelong commitment to each other. I realize that many of those around me don't hold to that standard, and I don't say anything unless asked. However, that is the standard I hold myself to. And the amount of pressure from society can be quite overwhelming. During high school, I had other students (who I barely knew) throw condoms at me. I had students purposely say the most explicit things they could think of to me, trying to get me to react. The 'something must be wrong with you to not be wanting sex right now' probably in at least some ways resembles what I am hearing is said to those who don't want sex at all. Either one is a rejection of the advertising industry's use of sex as the ultimate sales tool, and so sticks out like a sore thumb in society.
